I'm sorry to say this, but Sony has since released a firmware update to fix the graphical errors in the games. It now plays 100% of PS2 and PS1 games. I put RE:4 on a PS3 and a PS2 side by side on the same TV (Samsung 1080i 20")...and ran it in Progressive scan with a 16:9 ratio. In addition to loading the game faster, the PS3 made it run more smoothly. There was ZERO lag for the video to gameplay cut-off. While it only looked marginally better on the PS3, you CAN tell the differenc...
Why is Metroid the only game i WANT to play on the wii? I see what they tried to do...but it's really not as good as people think it is. If MS is so innovative, why did they just slap a different processor in an xbox and call it next gen???
The PS2 won because it had the BEST games...and it USED the DVD format to maximize the gaming experience.

MGS2 WAS on the original Xbox. Hideo Kojima sold it in limited amounts to see the reaction. haha...and he got one. Sony paid him MILLIONS more just to stop him from selling it...which is why it's so rare now.

and Gran Turismo 3 sold more copies than ANY other game last generation...including your precious Halo 1 and 2. It's DEFINITELY a system seller. Polyphony is a fantastic company and they've won awards for each GT since number one. I don't think EITHER are up to my standards yet... The only thing i've enjoyed off either of them is Medieval (the PS1 game for my psp), the motorstorm demo, and the Lost Planet demo.
As far as gameplay goes...it's up to the developers...R:FOM has a GREAT online service, but so does Halo2 and GOW.
I think people will go wherever the games are...which is why SOCOM 3 is currently the reigning champion (Unreal 04' in a close second) for online gaming. We ALL know the PS2 ...
