Ninja gaiden black/sigma hands down is the top hack and slash game. Had great enemy count, great pacing, puzzles but not too many, backtracking but didn't over do it. IMHO. I just love the pacing in this game.

Experiment? Letting them off the hook that easy I see. They should have just made the game like razors edge from the jump. You can't subtract everything that made a game awesome and expect the game to be awesome...

D3mons0ul got it right...The days where cheats and unlocks were actually on the game if you did certain criteria like beat the game with one weapon for example. New costumes and weapons were available after you finished the game. Wow I can't believe how the times drastically change...To combat this I let my wallet do the talking...
Sorry Mercury Steam did not butcher the series. Lords of shadow was a damn great game...

You hit it right on the nail. The gameplay mechanic is horrible. Why can't you do any of the complex combos? The combo mechanic is not as smooth and fluid as it was in the first two games...
You said everything that needs to be said. The combo mechanic which was the staple in the first two games is horrible! I try to do a combo on the selection list and it is not responsive at all...The basically told the fans fuck you!
Yeah I got the game for PS3 and the gameplay is just shitty. The combo mechanic is no longer fluid and smooth. That's what made the first 2 games so great...Now it is just a button masher. I will be taking it back tomorrow...
The game wasn't that hard on normal, you just couldn't button mash, if you did the enemies made you pay for it.
Thats what I said. How hard would it been from Team Ninja to implement every weapon available from NGB and NG2. They could have at least did that. If all those weapons would have been in there I think the hardcore fans would have cut them some slack... And yes I know DLC is coming but again why not have that in the game from the start?
The game is fun to play. The hardcore fans are upset at the fact the stripped it down naked LOL. Have you guys played NGB or NGS? The pacing, boss battles were crazy and memorable. I guess this new team ninja were under some serious budget and time constraints.
If they would have added all the weapons from 1 and 2 it would have gave this game so much variety...
