The main games in Final Fantasy does not come out every year and is different in it's own way, so I can't see it needing a rest.
Assassin's Creed has been the same games over and over at least number 2, brotherhood and revelations. The story is different but the gameplay and formula is the same, at least I got a bit bored of it. I'm buying Revelations later on though.
But I agree with u on COD. It's worse in repeating itself than AC if you ask me....

I think you are wrong with the everyone follows the leader stuff, because I thought the leading line is that Zelda does not do anything new and gets Good reviews because of the name.

The story, gameplay, art style, graphics, mechanics are the best yet! Still I miss a bigger atmosphere like in Majoras Mask and more towns and places you want to go arter beating the game like castle town and kakariko.
My conclusion is that it is one of the best alongside Ocarina and Majoras Mask.
I agree, I own both a PS3 and a Wii so I can the most of games. PS3 keeps me busy with a whole lot of games and every now and then Nintendo comes out to clean the dust of my Wii. The most memoriable games this generation for me is just as much Nintendo games as PS3 games.
Yeah, I was completely obsessed with Skyrim but when Zelda came last friday I have not been playing Skyrim at all. I just can't put Zelda down it's so addictive and exciting!
I don't think you have been playing much Zelda games if you mean they are about the same.. Each new games brings new art/graphic style, whole new places, new items, link gets new abilities, new gameplay mechanics, it's own story, New music (except for a few remixes), new mechanics like upgrade system and potion mixing and so on!
The formula is the same quest - temple, quest - temple and so on but the content in the formula is always different so it never feels the same. It do...
Try it and I'm sure your opinion will change. At least I found it better than Uncharted 3 and Skyrim wich were games I thought was going to be my GOTY.

Zelda has been ongoing for 25 years so comparing Uncharted to it is not really fair.
I get how they feel from the outside if they have not played much Zelda but us who play it know that every single game is completely different in art, graphics, gameplay, story, items and so on. Zelda is definetely my favourite franchise and I don't think Nintendo would ever quit with so many Zelda fans. Miyamoto is a genius!
No they should not follow that line! I have a PS3 and a WII so I can get the most of exclusives. Nintendo has very few AAA games but the ones that are , are completely awesome. I got Skyrim, Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City wich are all completely awesome games, but Skyward Sword wich I started yesterday are completely overshadowing them!
I think everybody should try skyward sword before they say anything about it, it may be the best game I have ever played.
Well it has a other bug too wich Naughydog completely ignores. For some including me the game is unplayable because it won't load. It's on forums all over the internet even on the naughty dog forums where people have trying to be contacting them without luck.
This problem occurs on all ps3 machines and the disc is working on other ps3s so it must be a bug..
At least I got to finish the single-player before it happened to me. It has been unplayable for over a week.
I liked the atmosphere, the villages and the iconic music in ocarina but gameplay, sidequests and story are much better in Skyward. I have a hard time choosing between the two..
I agree. The Wind Waker story was very good but it lost the epic feel with the cartoony art style. It looks fantastic, but how I imagine a perfect Zelda game is with the TP or maybe SS art style. I want Zelda to be epic and serious, but that may be because OoT was my first Zelda game.
The Ganon battle in TP was truly epic in comparison to the WW ganon battle in my opinion.
I guess it all comes down to wich relation people have to Zelda.
