I used to think that peak gfx was approaching, then WD happened. If what we got compared to what they showed is any indication, we are not at the peak.
I can agree with the mascot idea. Doesn't Xbox use Master Chief as one? As for PS, Naughty Dog talks about making new franchises each gen. We could say PS3 had Uncharted as mascot material (Nathan or anyone else in the cast). PS1 had Crash. I'm not sure about Jak for PS2. I'm interested in the new IP from these guys and if that would be mascot-worthy
I love reading things that say "99% of people" blah blah blah. I must be that 1% then. And come to think of it, according to articles like these I'm always the 1% guy. No wonder I'm so lost and confused....
This is one of the craziest things I've ever read. I've never had a PS controller break either so no clue where that came from. Some people like paying more for less I guess. More for a weaker system, more for online, same amount for downgraded games.....
If paying more nets you less I'm happy to "get what I pay for" with the PS4

I just hope with this lead Sony doesn't get too arrogant. We still need stuff like DLNA and mp3 support. I'm hoping for an awesome gen and a comeback for good games we've been missing. RPGs too! I hope this leads to more of that

I'm not saying we should write off the X1. I will say though that the Dreamcast IMO was a better system for its time than the X1 is for this time
I like that they haven't shown gameplay. Games get too overhyped or lose hype too fast nowadays. We will all get to see soon enough, and I can't wait to get my copy!
@johndoe I believe those "spoiled gamers" back in the day would have been the ones hounding their parents for subscriptions to every magazine and checking the mail every single day for a new issue of SOMETHING..... Anything!! AAAAHHHH, where is it?!?! Lol

The site still seems to be online. I see dualshockers posted a bogus article for once. Obviously the site isn't updated, but it's there nonetheless. I didn't care for 1up and I understand people's frustration with IGN. I think IGN has gotten a little better though IMO. I like the videos/walk through they have now. I go there and gamefaqs if I ever need to for help or extra fun with a completed game
I love the Vita jump! It's sad though when PS4 drops below PS3 IMO.
No I've heard of they're financials. The "bad position in the market" would be more in terms of the company as a whole. In the gaming market, they're doing awesome.
I don't mind the remakes, I've bought a few and I'm going to get TLOU. I don't understand though how they can know the figures for "new" Playstation owners. People get new emails and change names all the time

It is fake. Go to the site and it says used from $5.99 for Ghosts. That's not real. I didn't click farther. Nobody would sell for $5.99 they could easily make more than that. Not from me, but someone.
Edit: and saying $6 for Ghosts isn't even a guarantee so that right there isn't truthful

It's cool and all that they (ND) shared this info, but seriously?! If any developer doesn't know this they're in the wrong business. COD has been rehashing the same crap for years, they're masters at this too
