There are some truly amazing games in the App Store. I've played more games on my iPhone 4S than I have on my Vita and 3DS combined.
With that said man cannot live on iOS alone.

You are wrong about PSP having as much developer support as DS. It really dropped off towards the end. And this comes from a die hard PSP gamer and collector.

On one hand those are outstanding numbers.
On the other hand, they're grouping the entire world for their PR statement, where in the past they had crowed about the numbers for a specific region. This isn't a byproduct of globalization but rather a good way to fluff up your numbers. Nintendo has done the same thing recently with the 3DS.
