By that logic God of War (2018) would not have sold so well (which is a 6th or 7th game in the God of War series if you count the Playstation portable game).

It would kill the need to own a PS for people that buy it soley for exclusives (which IMO is always a bad investment). Most people buy it or have been buying them since the 90s for many other reasons over the PC counterparts, exclusives were always just a bonus.

I would dare to say for that era, that it was the Golden Age of gaming (...) PERIOD.
The spear-tool for this fight was *chef-kiss*.
It was certainly one of the most memorable bosses in SoulsBorne in general.
Plus, the whole ''Boss Defeated'' troll was one of the scariest and most badass things i have seen in gaming.
The music itself is filled with horror feel to it, which really adds to the fight quality itself.

Aside from Diablo, Overwatch and COD ... I really can't think bout any other major franchise (that is still alive) that would not come to PlayStation. All of these are quite popular on the said platform. Even Crash and Spyro I can still see coming to PS.

They lost a lot of good will, and some fans will likely not return to buying their products (...) period, no matter how much they claim and show they have changed their focus.

This is interesting, considering the 2018 game locks you into a certain difficulty (Give Me God Of War difficulty), which makes me think:
1) People complained about that, and as such SSM listened to feedback
2) Ragnarok will be even more difficult than GOWs hardest difficulty
