Man, Gearbox just has no shame. Another piece of outsourced garbage. At least they are consistent.

I like the new system and have played a lot of SF, but I miss the old classes. Just went back to Kz3; man is it amazing MP.

Just love that Dev, but please, give us something about the coop!

I think KZSF mostly suffered from being a launch title. In the end it was great to see a new direct for the series, but the execution of a drastic change in play style and tone was just under developed. It is a still a really great game, but lack of dev time and some strange design choices (having to keep the LSR44) held it back. Why they didn't implement the loadout system of Mercs (which is an amazing Killzone game), I don't know. It would have fit perfectly into the Spec ops type o...

Well, one Alien built the franchise, so hopefully one can save it. I think the game looks like a breath of fresh air, but time will tell if they can pull it off. After ACM I refuse to get my hopes up.

I understand the sentiment, but the entertainment industry has turned to streaming models to combat piracy, used media sales etc. and I think it is the future. You aren't force to buy in and it allows for media on a huge number of platforms. If it means Sony gets to keep putting out awesome games then I am all for it, and I think those games being available to more people it a positive thing in the long run.

And this was expected by people? Your cable company doesn't give you free access to movies they stream, but you own, and this is allowing you to play the games on a huge number of devices. There is no logic to thinking the copy you previously bought would allow that. I think the service sounds amazing, especially for the Vita owners.

I appreciate your appreciation. Also after watching the trailer and some gameplay I am cautiously optimistic.

Why Ripley's daughter? Why not just something new? God this franchise has been run dragged through the mud. Prometheus, Aliens Colonial Marines and now this. I hope I am wrong, but Aliens games are mostly garbage...mostly.

Bioshock infinite and TLOU are my top two hands down. Seems a little passive aggressive to leave TLOU off the list, as it will be the game BI will be runner up to in most places, but preference is preference.

Yeah I agree, I really enjoyed Shadowfall, but it made me go back to KZ3 which I found to be much better. They lost some of the essence of Killzone when they changed it so drastically.

Yeah I know, and part of it was that the owl is really the new mechanic. I just loved the slamming into cover in the other installments and then grinding it out against the Higs.

I agree. I think Sony is partly to blame, as you said. Killzone was the Halo killer, Killzone 2 had the CG scandal, Killzone 3 had to be Move/3D and now Shadowfall is the flagship launch title. They have always put massive pressure on the franchise, instead of letting it be it's own thing. It is a really unique shooter in a great world, it is too bad for GG that it always has to wave the Sony banners so high.

Almost all fans in this industry kick up dust when the game they are excited for doesn't get the scores they want, not just sony fans. It is part of the craziness of the score obsessed nature of this industry. Also Killzone is a very divisive franchise, you pretty much love or hate it. I love it, but I know a lot of people who don't.

I agree, especially about lack of cover mechanic, although I felt it was still pretty heavily present in KZ3.I wondered if that is why they moved away from killzone 4 as a title, because this was a different concept. It was also likely rushed to a degree as a launch title, and for sure has a fraction of the budget of some other big budget shooters. A great game, but it isn't quite sure what it wants to be.

I am a huge fan, and for the most part I loved this game, but man did the story ever fall flat. They need better writers. They had a ton of interesting themes, and did nothing with them in the end. It's disappointing because the acting is always quite good, they just don't seem to know how to close out the story ever.

The other thing is that they seemed to take a lot from FPS's like Far Cry 3 and Dishonored, but the mechanics didn't quite work. The NPC/civilia...

I love KZ3 (and 2) but I think it is a huge problem in gaming..great set pieces and design...novice story and character. Killzone had a lot of promise always, but it just never really hit any marks on the story front. I also think adding in another foe, something like the flood in Halo, would have also helped with diversity. All blue vs red gets a bit tired.

Regardless, my favourite PS3 shooter and I can't wait for Shadowfall.

I wish Aliens Colonial Marines had stayed that way.

Good article about the increased playability and depth of the worlds that are being created in the next gen.

Also this is a nice thread so far which seems to be devoid of fanboy nonsense, cuz honestly both new systems are showing some amazing stuff right now; It is an exciting time no matter where you decide to lay your dollars down.

Man, I have bought three versions of this game and now Capcom wants another 15 dollars. Shame on me, I guess.
