Look at it this way: When DVD Launched back in 1997, after 6 months 178 000 DVD-players where sold in US and after a year only 315 000 total in US. These new formats are doing better alone than DVD did in the beginning. And yes I know DVD came in 1995 but first players were sold 1997.

Finally someone put a little light on this topic. A PS3 costs around 860 bucks here in Sweden and you Americans discuss whether it´s worth the money or not with the prices in USA?

There is no way to tell a difference in my opinion. If some "expert" told me Halo looks better or Haze looks better I wouldn´t really care cause when grafics are this good (as in both games) normal people like myself can´t see a difference and frankly gameplay is more important here. I´m a PS3 owner btw
The Samsung M87-series is supposed to be sick from 40 inch and higher with contrast 15000:1. I just bought the LE40F71 1080p and I´m very pleased with the gaming experience. I think Samsung is the way to go, at least in the future with their new lineup of LCD´s having 100000:1 in contrast.

I wasn´t around when the Beta Max-VHS war was on but when DVD came it didn´t have any competition (well some but it was no where near HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray) besides the former gen format VHS. So what happend was like always: the gadget-nerds like myself took the first step and payed the developement expenses when buying the very first DVD-players and "ordinary" people went along when prices dropped.

The concern is why there is no legal requirement to publish these warnings and still most games have warnings, infact most game manuals dedicate whole pages of warnings and they do this even though there is no legal requirement. Isn´t that a positive thing? What am I missing here?
