They're not free. Without PS+ you get none of those games. The excuse that people give that the games you get outweigh the cost is a lie. The simple fact is that not everyone is going to download every single game that is offered through the service due to lack of interest. Personally there isn't a single game on that list that interests me whatsoever. With that said that's half of my service that's being paid for, not being used.
When it comes down to it people are responsible for their own actions, religion has nothing to do with it.
Instead of giving free games, Sony needs to invest in more data centers for PSN. That way if an attack does happen again then they can just switch everyone over to a different data center while the other one is being worked on. This is exactly what MS does with XBL.
