Woa calm down dude, just voicing my opinion about the article. Got no problem with achievs/trophies and I agree they add a certain value to most games. Also I hadn't thought about the whole exposing liars thing, thanks for pointing that out :)
I guess I was just off put by the lack of a mention of trophies, which makes the writer seem as though he hasnt experienced all sides of the achievement/trophy systems and rewards.

MS will more likely wait until they have something they want and then throw money at them until they gimp their games in order to make them multi-platform or exclusives.
Harsh but kinda true, I wish MS would spend more time on building up their first parties though. They might actually create some nice new IPs rather than c**k blocking with cash.

If you need a little thing to pop up on screen to tell you you have achieved something then you let me congratulate you on not hurting yourself while putting on clothes today.
On the other hand if they were to implement a simple reward scheme i.e free content for high ranking achievements/trophies then it would give you more incentive to seek them other than just to brag to your friends who will probably just call you a tosser after you do anyway.
...loving the idea of 3D games, I know not everyone is a fan but I think it can add something to the gameplay and visual experience of most genres. Now if only the new TVs weren't so expensive :-\ *drops penny in piggy bank*

I have played through the E3 demo a fair few times now and if they say they have improved on that then I'm gonna pre-warning my local hospital to expect a lot of over stimulated eyeball related injuries!

Yes ignorance is rife amoung most gamers but I doubt you could call somebody who doesn't know anything about their own or other systems 'core' gamers. I believe the reasons you mentioned to own the 360 version are valid but also insignificant compared to the benefits of owning the PS3 version. If you value achievements so much that you don't care about the quality of the game you are playing then that is one step, if not all the way, to being a fanboy.
...these guestimates are right then it doesn't change the fact that the PS3 has been gifted with the superior port for once. You can consider yourself a fanboy if you have both systems and buy the Xbox version, theres no logic in it.
...as some fools have pegged me as a PS3 fanboy due to my scepticism over Natal. Is it not true that there are very limited core gaming applications for such a device? If MS want to grab some casual players and make some money then good for them but if it detracts from future core games then there is no greater evil.

The other reason most xbox games don't take advntage of the HDD is that it is sold sererately at a premium and not all gamers have one.
The fact that MS don't have as many first party studios as the competition will definitely effect the support for Natal but IF the PR is anything but bulls**t,which is unlikely, the third party support will be enourmous... don't hold your breath though.
Natal is a casual gimmick to extend the life of the Xbox 360 because MS are unwilling to make another console probably due to cost/risk.
When Natal arrives and fails to impress core gamers I foresee even some of the fanboys swallowing their pride and moving to the more technologically sound PS3.
