Yeah that happened to me on my first play. I always have two saves for one game now because of that, one for before I start the missions and one for during, never had the vampire problem since.
I have it on the PS3 and thats one game thats never crashed on me, its one of the most solid games I own. I think the problem comes from the install, if its crashing a lot try reinstalling it.
This trick doesnt work on Fallout though, I love New Vegas but the crashing has made me bald.

I cant wait to get my 3D tv after seeing Killzone 3 running it made my nipples hard,unfortunately this is the worst site to post this article. Too many children that have a vendetta against a company because its some how offended them by not being the one they game on, would be the same if Microsoft where pushing 3D.

And yet another that believes gameplay and creativity are irrelevant, graphics are the only thing that makes a game playable.
Go look at some nice flashy lights and let gamers play games. The system dosent matter as long as the the game entertains. I enjoy playing my PS3 just the same as my PC, both offer different experiences and to ignore one because you get a lower freckle and nostril hair count means you lose out.
