All the science and discoveries you mentioned were founded because the current models DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE (LOGIC). Organized religion does not function in that respect. It is backwards. Religion fills in the gaps (without any need for rational though) to maintain the answer (status quo).
Someone else who cherishes fact over fiction....unfortunately, it is due to your ability to use reason and logic that you have come to that conclusion.... Religion requires no such thought process...in fact most of it requires you to abandon such a limitation, allowing you to believe in ideas that you know are impossible and flawed...

Mass Effect was extremely overrated. I had to force myself to finish it, just so I could have more gamer points than my friend that bought the game for me. It wasn't just because I spent 50% of the game in an elevator either.
A lot of walking, talking, elevators/loading and not enough action....GOOD game, but far from GREAT
