If GoW is as generic as you claim, why are you using it as a benchmark in your title, hmmm?
Either:
A. Your review alone doesn't warrant hits, so you rely on a big name game that isn't even in the same category (as you have put it)
or
B. You are soooo upset that people happen to love the GoW series, you feel the need to take it down a peg with an upgraded DMC clone

Anyone claiming that this game is better than GoW hasn't played GoW and is only looking for hits. If anyone really believed that it was better than GoW, they wouldn't need to mention it in the title as Bayonetta would stand out on it's own.
Don't get me wrong...The game can be fun when you are pulling off crazy combos, assuming you have the game on mute. The game has one track and it has to be the worst song I've ever heard in a video game
I agree with your "without marketing, the Wand will fail" idea, but without marketing, it will fail regardless of release date. If timing is of the essence, then MS have already lost since "motion-controlled" gaming has been around for a while now.
The year head start that the 360 had over the PS3 hasn't stopped Sony from outselling the 360 world wide this year.

Steam is a great service
The first game was amazing, but suffered from major gameplay flaws. 2nd game has improved immensely and has won some awards, justifiably.
Being a 360 only owner, you should know that graphics aren't everything!
MS are working on ways to spin the numbers so it sounds like they sold more....just like the way they mentioned how many 360s there are worldwide, but never said "sold"
