Is it just me, or is the game not really that shockingly amazing looking. I mean, the landscapes are vast and good looking, but overall it's plain and blah. There were many games released in 07 that look better than this.
The wow factor in crysis is supposed to come from the scale and size of things. You're rendering this huge island with interactive foliage, and break points anywhere on a tree/leaves, and totally destructible buildings.
Believe me, I've wasted quite a bit of my life playing JRPG's some pretty good, others repetetive pieces of crap, and so far they pretty much all have the same damn game play. These new western rpgs try poking into different elements of gameplay and discover something out of the box which ends up being amazingly fun, I mean, look at stalker, amazing gameplay if you bothered to play it.

I'm using a single 2 ghz pentium M core right now, and seeing all my friends getting dual/quad cores, I really want one bad. Running different programs on different cores would be a godsend to me, I get a ton of crashes on different programs, including firefox which freezes my whole system, and if I would use a single core for just firefox, and have three others for my whole system, that would be heaven :D.

ANYONE that knows anything about computer would not go for a brandname. You can build pretty much the same thing yourself for 800~1200$, not 6000$.

I have been a nintendo fan all my life, and played Jrpgs all my life until I decided to pick up a copy of Oblivion for my PC, and all I have to say is that Oblivion beats the living piss out of any Jrpg out there in Story depth, playability, and fun. Jrpgs are just grinding work, in Oblivion you level naturally as you explore the vast NON-LINEAR world around you.
Gears has GREAT multiplayer, but it's a bit to small, I wish the multiplayer had more modes, and supported more players.
So you're making this a regional thing? I think it's just a western prefrence, I can say the same about Jrpgs having repetitive, boring game play, but I'm not. Christ, this is positive news about something, and you have to turn it negative? Just don't even bother to post.

The only thing that really annoys me is that Jrpg guys always look like total wusses, I mean, instead of looking feminine, maybe a better male hero would look masculine. Maybe that's just my thinking.
