Halo is a 16 player game, more players does not equal more fun. 40 player would be retarded for halo, people playing Halo enjoy more a 4v4 than a 8v8. It's hard to get 8 player team, strangers are always acting retarded.

The 1-4 thing is for one box, that means 4 players can play, either co-op or online on one box. Online is 16 players can play, all on seperate xbox's in one game.
