Well, I knew this was going to be a hit, that`s why I ordered 100+ on each console for my store alone. A sleeper hit has me running after copies at multiple suppliers because no one saw is coming.
And also, the media blitz Rockstar did in the last 2-3 months kind of nuls out the idea that this is a sleeper hit.
to be fair, there was a whole team behind the creation of Xbox and the 360. Not just J allard.

I love Pac man because I actually experienced the pac man craze as a kid. TV shows, cereal, T-shirts, all before Mario. it was the first mainstream merchandised game I think, and for that alone, Pac-man will always have a solid place in gaming history.

I agree that split second deserves more then a 6.5. It has one of the best first impressions, however I do question its lasting appeal.
As for Blur, I do not question it`s lasting appeal what so ever, that game has long legs and is my favorite arcade racing game this year.

yeah, I think this makes complete sense since the used game friction really started to happen with online games since people who bought a used game would play on the same servers, in a way, playing for free since a portion of the new games sales go toward maintaining all the online support, and that is getting more and more expessive in a games budget.
This is a great compromise imho, and a sign that publishers understand that the used game market is not going anywhere.
