I know most will be getting it for the multiplayer, but Splatoon will have a single player campaign mode too, it's not online only.
I put a lot of hours into the multiplayer mode playing with friend and family members, it was pretty good for back then.

You don't have to repurchases the Wii games, you can just system transfer your Wii to your Wii-U and play your games by switching to Wii mode on the Wii U menu.
They do however allow you to update VC games that you have purchased on a Wii to your Wii U for $1-$1.50, but it's not needed and the only difference is that you can play your VC on the Gamepad.

Nintendo didn't make Golden Eye or Perfect Dark, Rare did.
I'm still waiting on the game Awesomenauts Assemble to be released for the X1, it got released on the PS4 over a year ago.
This really only affects Youtubers that want 100% of the revenue generated by their videos, your friends and other Youtubes that don't care about revenue, can just join Nintendo's Youtube program and post their videos with out problems.

I doubt it had anything to do with mother 3, I seen quite a few people asking for Lucas to be put in the game, apart from Mewtwo and Ice Climbers he is probably the most popular character from a past Smash game that didn't make it into the original roster of this game and it was just easier for them to add a character that already had work done on it, than to make a new one. With Mewtwo and now Lucas coming to the game, hopefully the next character won't be Wolf. -.-

You do realize that every game that received a 90 or higher on your list are all re-releases from last gen and probably had just as much or more development time that the Wii U games had...
The Wii U also has re-released games too, in fact there are over 130 virtual console games for the Wii U that are NOT added on Metacritic.
