Would love to see another Mario Kart game like this.
Not a big fan of it, the spawning is horrible on it due to it being such a small map, but I guess most of the players enjoy it, it's what everyone seems to vote for every single time it pops up. I wouldn't be surprised if they included Firing Range for a 3rd time also.

They at least attempted to move it forward with the Wii U, by having a touch pad be a big part of the system, it didn't quite do what they hoped it would, but they're taking risk to attempt to move gaming forward instead of just putting out a traditional gaming system like the others.
Who is saying any thing about Nintendo doing DRM or check-in's?
It's done basically the same, most of the games took a higher level than 55 to prestige and some of the games had more than 10 prestiges, like BO1 & AW have 15 and MW3 has 20(way more of a grind).
A lot people were assuming the NX would be a hybrid console that would be capable of playing handheld games, So going the cart route makes sense.
@kalebninja I'm not pushing for him to be in, But if enough fans wanted it, I could see it happening. What says that a game character has to had originated in a video game to qualify? If I remember correctly, James Bond was once highly considered for Smash, which shows that Sakurai isn't 100% against adding a character that didn't originate in gaming.
He's been a video game character since the SNES DBZ games. He most likely won't get in and there are better choices out there, just saying he wouldn't be terrible imo.
It is done the same way in Black Ops 2, 10 prestiges and 55 levels per prestige.
I've seen a few people suggest him, I'd be ok with it. With Bandai Namco owning the rights to the DBZ games and also working on Smash, it's not too far fetched.
Don't know why people are disagreeing with you, it's true Nintendo is doing more with 1st party, they have more 1st party games, hell even by sells numbers no 1st party PS4 game has outsold Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros. U or Smash Bros, despite the Wii U having half the install base. It goes to show most people are interested in the 3rd party games on the PS4.
Metacritic doesn't include over 200 virtual console games available for the Wii U, but does include all the remakes and re-released games from last gen, so I don't know if that's a fair comparison.

An open world Mario Kart game with a campaign doesn't sound appealing to me, I'd leave that stuff to one of the other Mario series and boss fights in a racing game? come on now.

It doesn't have online split screen on the X1, it's just split screen for 2 players in garden Ops, but you can't connect and play with others while doing it, they were making a big deal about it before it came out, but the use of split screen is next to nothing in the game.
