Nintendo is losing money on Wii U, chief.
Keeping my PS3 as well. It's a no-brainer. I have no desire to play PS3 games on PS4... I want PS4 games on PS4.
I like Nintendo for some of their 1st party stuff and will probably get a Wii U eventually for that (especially for Monolith Soft)... but anyone who thinks Wii U will be as successful as the Wii was, let alone more successful than PS4, is kidding themselves for no real reason. Enjoy your Wii U if that's your thing, but stop wasting time trying to convince anyone that it's going to do better than PS4, because it won't even come close.
Developers aren't excited ...
I'm not getting worked up, it's not that serious. I just don't get how it "looks F2P." Is that supposed to be some kind of insinuation that it looks cheap?
It's clear you're a fanboy. That statement is ridiculous.
What is that even supposed to mean... F2P is just an alternative business model to full priced games. It looks like Halo meets Borderlands and they had an MMO baby named Destiny.
So much cynicism these days.
I don't expect them to respond to every rumor. The always online rumor has become very damaging though, very public, and it's not just nameless sources anymore.
Sony said something substantial in February to address the rumors at least 9 months before the thing hits store shelves. We will have been reading developer reactions and slobber fests over how swell the PS4 is for 9 months. Microsoft is either very confident or they haven't come up with the marketing str...
Xbox 720 is a non-story at this point. The rumors are doing them in and while MS remains silent, employee tweets dismiss much of the customer base as out of touch... and source after source becomes more credible and goes so far as to say features no one wants are confirmed. 720 is only mentioned because everyone hates always online. The only positive article I've seen on the new Xbox in forever is Nolan frickin Bushnell talkin about it outselling the PS4 based on essentially nothing. ...
I'll buy that for a dollar.
The reality of always online is a large number of people can't even voice their displeasure about it. Not everyone who likes gaming has internet - and not all by choice... some don't have it available, some can't afford it. Broadband internet is nowhere close to being common/affordable enough in North America (can't speak for any other region) for a business decision like this.
True or not, people can express their opinions about it. MS has given zero indicati...
Not really a fair statement in regard to making the claim. For all we know Killzone: SF could be doing a million different things in the environment at any given time that gives him plenty of reason to talk about bottlenecking. Of course, BF3 on PS3 looked better than Killzone, so it's also a factor that they just don't push the graphics as much as DICE.
Graphics aren't the only factor though. Skyrim was a great looking PS3 game but the memory bottleneck nearly b...
The human eye doesn't see in frames per second. That is a digital term tied to hardware performance. There is no way to prove what "max fps" the human eye "supports" because it operates purely on continuous motion and not within a realm constrained by display properties. Hiccups can be seen at times even at 60 fps.
Or something.
It may be a big problem to you and some others, but I hope you realize you are in the extreme minority. Cost outweighs usefulness.
Just finish your PS3 games before you get a PS4... seems like a simple solution to all the BC butthurt going on.
It's still going to be the same exact game with different graphics.
Oh but I can put my custom emblem on my gun!!
Good ads aren't cheap and people tend to lean toward buying products that are more visible. Aside from unpredictable viral ad campaigns, successful marketing usually requires a high dollar value. That's just the reality, unfortunately. Warren Buffet said he would spend $2 billion on Geico ads if he could. In 2011, Geico spent $994 million on ads. Everyone knows the Geico Gecko and the Geico Caveman. Ads like that cost a lot of money to buy from an agency and get in the public view. ...
Hey now, that's quite enough of that rational thinking there. A bunch of solid features and a solid base for future gaming in the hardware? Check. WON'T LET ME PLAY OLD GAMES MADE FOR OLD HARDWARE???? AAHHHHHHHHHHH *ragequit*
If you don't want to rebuy your PS3 games then keep your PS3.
It's an online poll that gets more circulation on gaming sites than anywhere else because EA is involved. Of course it is going to draw a lot of attention for EA. EA has a terrible reputation among the online communities in gaming.
But let's not make it a bigger deal than it really is, either... this poll got all of just over 250,000 votes last year. Battlefield 3 alone has over 6 million active players.
I think Activision is worse than EA, but I...
I totally agree and we will probably be swimming in disagrees soon, but EA is not even close to the douchery of many financial institutions, insurance companies, or agriculture. Heck I would even put Walmart (who destroys small business everywhere they go and treats customers like trash) and ISPs providing broadband with data caps ahead of freakin Electronic Arts.
Not being able to play SimCity for a week or two... cry me a freakin river. There are people losing their homes...
Assuming everyone who bought a Wii will buy a Wii U is ignorant. Assuming everyone who bought a 360 over a PS3 in North America will buy a 720 over PS4 is presumptuous and ignorant.
We don't know how the sales will shake out, but Wii U is on the short end of both developer support and gamer interest. PS4 looks to be a far stronger platform with a lot more developer support. The assumption that Wii U will do better based on Wii's numbers is pretty asinine.
