I too don't think it deserves the scores it got. I do think it's a good game but it received perfect scores and people saying it's the best game released in years, and I adamantly disagree. It reminds me of the GTA4 release. 10/10 everywhere but to me was incredibly overrated.
The mindset here is if you think it's not the best game ever and a 10/10 you must automatically think it's terrible and that's not the case. You guys act like a cult sometimes ...
People can blindly throw hate your way if they want but I too find BoTW grossly overrated. One of those games that if it didn't have the title I think would be criticized more. I found Horizon to be superior and was greatly disappointed 🤷🏾♂️

Story isn't great by any means, the attention to detail gets in the way of fun factor, the animations become redundant and you can't skip it, the constant dirty horse crap, your guns must manually be taken off of your horse or else all you have is pistols, and some things feel overly complicated.

I get it but it becomes annoying and redundant. I rather the option. I've played many open world games. Sometimes I want to explore and other times I want to get to the point. I guarantee if any other studio did this but R* people would say something. I think Jim Sterling is correct in that the game is amazing but sometimes its attention to detail gets in the way.
I'm enjoying the game without a doubt, but I have problems with it and this is one of them.
The lack of fast travel from other places besides your base/camp is annoying.

I'm very excited for this game and I'm good with the delay. It's one of the smartest and transparent delays I've seen.
Rented it to try out. Still not for me. I enjoyed Heist and Blackout but that's about it. Happy they went away from the jetpacks and auto Regen. Positive turn, but ultimately not for me.
