I would cast my vote for Symphony of the Night.
It's good but some Castlevania purists may take issue with the stages rather than one massive castle. From a multiplayer perspective though you can easily see why they would do things this way though.
Not a JRPG or an RPG in the most classical sense but I thought that Mass Effect 2 has a really awesome intro. The Normandy breaking apart, Shephard getting spaced... awesome...
