Well a lot of the times you get some pre-order bonus (it normally sucks) but something is better than the nothing you'd get buying the game day 1 without a pre-order.
And you can always cancel.
I got the Destiny Beta code by pre-ordering with $5 and can get my money back if I don't like it. That pre-order is totally worth it to try the game early.

All I think of with this cloud PR is Kinect videos showing families scanning in skateboards and then riding them in the game. Never happened.
If they don't have an actual Xone game demo with the cloud tech yet then its a LONG way off if in Xones future at all.
I bet MS made him all these empty promises about Kinects abilities so he made a fool of himself with Milo thinking it would be possible then the truth smacked him in the face and them through egg all over it so now he's bitter about buying into that ever existing MS "wait and see"/ "potential" PR scam.
This is getting ridiculous, MS has been making promises about Kinect (and everything actually) for close to 5 years and delivered on nothing only to promise again to deliver.

Looks like if GTA5 had an HD release, so a 1080p PS3/360 game, but I'll still get it if it's good. Knowing Ubisoft it probably will be pretty great actually.
Upgradable HD, a $299 price and every Halo redone (with gameplay improvements) and I'll get one and put it right beside my PS4.
Kinect can stay or go, don't care, but not spending more than $300 for one game series. Aside from Halo the only other interesting exclusive is Quantum Break but, common, Sony has Uncharted and Last of Us and 3rd parties make the best games anyways.

MS claims 4x the power from the cloud and 2x the GPU power from DX12. So their promising about 6 trillion teraflops "sometime" in the future.
So if Xone is already 6x more powerful than 360 then at some unspecified time Xone with be over 24x more power than 360 making it the biggest console gen power jump ...
Well if BF4 and COD are to go by, devs show more love to the popular version.
Also the better resolution and framerate make multiplayer better too IMO. Not to mention a larger userbase means a larger community.
To each their own I suppose but it seems silly to buy an Xone for multiplats.

With all the advertising, price for exclusivity, unofficial Xone price drop, and only a brief uptick in sales, Titanfall probably cost MS A LOT of money.
If I were him I'd be tired of making MGS games..
...But they're among the best games in the industry every time, except PSP versions including Peace Walker - wasn't a huge fan, the controller didn't quite support the play style. Would have been better making them more like MGS 1.
