This review lost its credibility at the 9.0 Graphics score.
Clearly a 2007 game in today's standards does not warrant a 9.0 as a 2009 game.
I believe IGN is just playing safe. 9.0 is the sweet spot for saying, "We don't want you to hate us, but we don't want to say this was one of the best games of this year."
Uncharted 2:
9.5/10
21/10
10/10
5/5
etc.
IGN played it safe because they know the 5,000,000 11 year olds that visit their website would be furious and visit Eurogamer's biased trash bin of a website.
Anyway, ODST is not game of the year clearly. Killzone 2, inFamous, Uncharted 2, (possibly Demon's Soul) all scored better than it. Keep damage controlling.
Confirmed:
Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, inFamous, > Halo 3: ODST
BUT BUT BUT THE SALES.
@Below
All of these flops outscored your precious Halo, LOL. Owned.
Way to f-ck up the entire bots celebration of a 9.0 (inferior to Uncharted 2's score of course) score, Peter. I commend you.
CRY BOTS CRY.
UNCHARTED 2 GAME OF THE YEAR CONFIRMED.
Poor bots
I posted this story first, but it did not show up in pending. What the crap?
Edit: Fawk... I never sent it in for approval because I changed something and he beat me to it.
Actually after December 31st, 2009, it will be too late for my vote of 2009 VGotY.
You're right. Graphics should be about a 7 since it's in 620p and the engine is two years old.
or a full game
GC 2009: New Gran Turismo 5 Details
More than 1,000 cars and 3D head tracking, oh my.
by Chris Roper
August 18, 2009 - Despite it not making an appearance at Sony's Gamescom press conference, Polyphony Digital has updated its Japanese site with some new details on Gran Turismo 5. The translation has been difficult to get down pat, though some forumgoers, like BlackChamber at GTPlanet.net have been working to get everything straightened out.
From the sound...
I love it when bots come in here, see the score, become dumbfounded, and come up with a left-field excuse that's out of the blue.
Simple:
Bungie or Microsoft knows this game is going to get sh!t reviews, so they are holding the embargo until the day of or possible the day before the release. That way the regular consumers have no clue what the scores are, and they see HALO 3: ODST signs when they enter the Wal-Mart with their mommies, and run straight over to the Entertainment section and plop the cash down.
Microsoft knows how to play the game, and the bots just gobble it up. Step back and lo...
Ah another bot saying this crap is from a no-name site. Another butthurt boohooer? XDF must be scrambling hard for some excuses.
Mart's mom... nice....
@Mart's edit
Poor Mart - he's run out of bubs so he's gotta update his comment within the span of 30 minutes to get all of his tears out.
My question to you Mart:
Why is there an embargo on a game that's suppose to be out in FOUR DAYS? Bungie and Microsoft have no confidence in their game u...
Should’ve been a DLC instead of Retail Game
This game originally started as a downloadable expansion and it should have stayed that way. There really isn’t enough content here to warrant being on a retail disc, or its outrageous $59.99 price tag. Bungie should have taken a cue from Rockstar and made this a $20 expansion.
Short Game
The game is short, VERY short. I was able to complete it in less than six hours. The missions aren’t long and for anyone who’s familiar wi...

Statistics mean nothing to the individual.
And with this sentence, you made the rest of what you said sound retarded.
6.4/10, 2/5, 3/5...
When will it end bots?
No wonder your tardass has two bubs. Get smart.
Man, I swear to God if Halo 3: ODST gets a higher score than this on IGN, I'm done with them.
Biased Kotaku is butthurt that they can't play the game of the year, Uncharted 2.
