Ideally, Bethesda could patch this for the Xbox Series X and PS5 as there is a huge difference between the PC and the PS4 Pro version currently. There is no reason they shouldn't, they have sold this game to everybody over and over, they basically owe the community at this point.
If you can choose a single console, the console to own is the Playstation 5.
It plays everything the Xbox has, and dozens of titles it doesn't.
Period.
They should be releasing patch notes IMO.
Been playing it all day, its effing awesome.
Most games are not going to run at a native 4k this generation, unless they are old titles or graphically simple games. I couldn't care less either.
There is far more to graphics than resolution. Something the simpletons don't get.
For me it is easy, I have a huge amount of digital games owned for the PS4 already AND there are many exclusives I love playing on that system.
I also have a good PC (7700k/1080Ti) and can easily upgrade it when it starts to choke on games.
So there is no reason for me to get an Xbox, I can play everything (plus more) with a PC and a PS5.
It looks good, but it doesn't look like it has "weight". Not sure how to explain that, but when you are playing Dark Souls, Sekiro or Bloodborne, it feels like you connect with monsters and it has weight.
This sucks. 1440p is a nice sweet spot for monitors vs performance, and would have been a great feature to have on the PS5. Personally, I wanted to hook the PS5 to my PC's monitor and swap between them, now I can't. (I don't like it upscaling from 1080p).
Some monitors will accept 4k and downscale to 1440p which is better than 1080p up to 1440p but it would have been nice for native resolution support.
@potatoseal
What are you talking about? 10GB isn't going to magically turn into 5GB because your upload is double the speed. The new Call of Duty game is about 130GB on the PS5 for example. This does not mean its going to be 260GB on the PS4.
As for others not caring because they have fast download, meaning they can download a game in an hour or two if they need it, keep in mind the majority of people can not do that, so storage is an issue.

and nobody cares...
This is crap.
Meh, I am perfectly happy with what I have for launch.
Demon's Souls, AC Valhalla, Spider-Man, Godfall, Cyberpunk a month later...
Risen 1 was awesome, despite being a bit of a broken game. I never played Elex, maybe I will pick it up at some point.
Rumor is they are working on a new Gothic game.
This is stupid. How is this possible? The PS4 has sold about 115million units in 7 years, and that is with a poorly performing Xbox to compete against.
This next generation it is going up against much better competition in the Xbox, plus cloud offerings and a global recession. 200-300 million? No.
All you future downvoters can take a screenshot of this and come back to it and eat crow in 6 years from now.
Chances are the Xbox will drop less frames or just have extra graphical detail or draw distance that most people will never notice. Hard to say until they release the games.
No surprise. That being said, they should give a 60fps option (maybe they have done that, I don't know).
@PePe_PL I think 4k/60 is easily doable and will be done, because it will be a showcase.
4k/variable? Maybe. Backwards compatibility is a thing now, and if they do it with the PS5 patch, it also makes it far easier for them to take advantage of it further down the road.
However, certain games break with VRR due to animations.
@PePe_PL
Maybe but I doubt it.
@PePe_PL
That is probably coming, but I would assume it will come when you install it on the PS5 itself.
I've got 45 hours into this on the PS5 so far, and I like the game. I tried Quality mode today and it feels worse than 30fps, so I went back to performance mode. Honestly, I couldn't even tell the difference graphically anyways, but performance wise, huge difference.
