It is worth saying when you're practically married to Microsoft.
I agree with that, gameplay-wise and graphics-wise it's an even bigger leap. It may be the most impressive game visually this year; a sandbox game that looks just as good if not better than Uncharted 2, and Sucker Punch's credentials guarantee that the game itself will be excellent from start to finish.
Online also means DLC and updates, not just multiplayer. Gotta be online to download them right?
"The achievement Dedication requires you to go online six months AFTER your first time online. Now because you have to go online to unlock this achievement, there seems to be no way to cheat this (including changing the internal clock)."
That is actually pretty brilliant.
Aside from the online pass...
"Unlike the poster before me i did not call EA the devil or insult EA or Bioware in any way. In fact I did insult other people who were insulting members of Bioware (The guy [Towering Fury] for wishing death on David Gaider and another poster who was typing racial remarks towards Stanley Woo)."
So he got banned from sticking up for BioWare? Assuming there's not more to this story: EA, you disgust me.
While it's not horrible (but very disagreeable), yes, it's absolutely an opinion piece, as mine, yours, and pretty much everybody here's top 10 video game franchises of all time would be different.
Thankfully with Dead Space 2, the addition of multiplayer didn't result in an average singleplayer (Dead Space 2's singleplayer is stellar), but it and Bioshock 2 definitely didn't need multiplayer.
Yeah, I always forget to separate sandbox from open world. InFamous 2 will be the best sandbox game while Skyrim will be the best open world game.
While I agree that InFamous 2 will at least be the best open world game this year, this game and Journey both look great.
It's ironic, because wasn't the Cry Engine 3 confirmed to look and perform better on PS3 in those tech demos? Ah well. I certainly feel less inclined to buy the game after this, and I was planning on getting the 360 version to play with friends.
Maybe they got dissuaded after seeing Killzone 3, which looks better than Crysis 2 on consoles. Or maybe Microsoft paid them to do a lazy PS3 version like with Black Ops. Either one is highly likely.
Same here, I'm glad it comes out later this year. Technically the visuals are beautiful, almost on par with GOWIII/Uncharted 2/Killzone 3/InFamous 2 (maybe on par or better up close, hard to tell the actual technical sophistication from multiplayer and offscreen videos), and artistically it still stands out. Since it's by Insomniac I have no worries whatsoever about the gameplay. It's going to be great.
Using your Xbox Live avatar as the hero is brilliant. If this is pulled off right, it could be a Kinect seller.
Oh right, it was Kintaro in MKII, my bad. My deepest apologies for not keeping up to date with MK lore. It's been over a decade since I've played it, cut me some slack. I do remember Kintaro now... I think I got some images of MKI on SNES mixed up in my memories. Nonetheless I still felt nostalgia as a fan of the series back then.
Ah well, new MK will rock!
I didn't have many games as a kid, but MKII on Genesis was one of them. I thought Goro was badass back then, and hard as hell to beat. I didn't really play the series past MKIII as I grew up, but this new rebirth really struck an interest with me.
And when the demo teased a battle with Goro, I wanted it to keep going! Goro isn't the sole reason I want the game, that'd be silly, but he was certainly a memorable character from back in the day. And truth be told,...
But not too many more games like this. Don't want fresh going stale. I shudder to think of an age where Call Of Duty 55 is considered fresh by comparison.
These games have great graphics and physics. I've always wanted to try them out. Looks like "the ultimate game in the series" would be a good place to start!
I thought Dead Space 2 had a perfect balance of action and survival horror, and it's one of my favorite franchises this generation with games, movies, comics, and books, and all of them being great and adding something new to the universe. Can't wait for Dead Space 3.
If this is how Uncharted 3 looks now and there's still 8 months to go, I've no doubt it'll be the best looking game ever released, on consoles or PC. Naughty Dog topped Xbox and Gamecube games last gen with Jak 3, and they're topping PC games this gen with Uncharted 3. And their games aren't just eye-candy, they all have topnotch stories and gameplay. I'm very excited for this game.

Same day as Mortal Kombat? I hope there's a demo. No doubt it'll be a fantastic game, but I wanna make sure it's my kinda game.
Of course I could go out and purchase The Orange Box on 360. It's only been out for a few years. /slow
