I think we're seeing a rise in alternative narratives in the gaming world. Stuff like Life is strange, her story, that freedom cancer and the like are pushing the idea that the gaming medium is only about fun gameplay. It can be about interactive story telling too. Always a good thing to have variety :)
Such a shame too. They could have done so much with it.
The presence of a game on the list doesn't mean it's bad. I'm a huge fan on MGS and quite enjoy every game on this list. This was just a light hearted list highlighting games where the reason to play was for the gameplay and not so much the story :)
Wondering if a Crash reboot will come before an HD remake. Sonic could certainly use some love and at this point I'd rather the originals remade than have to endure another new tinew in the series.
And i totally agree. Shenmue is likely to get an HD collection with 3 coming so soon, the question is when.
Face smashing difficulty -_-
Contra has to be one of my all time favorites. Got prolific at that game over the years haha. Ghost's N goblins took me a lifetime to beat, brutal game.
I miss Underground so much.
Seems to be a rise in non-traditional game narratives. That dragon, cancer is a little over my head. Maybe I'll get around to trying it.
Hoping the Crash reboot will be passionately made. Would love to see Crash make a comeback.
Thanks. I'd be happy with that, even if it still sounds like a lot of work to pull off in volume. There are some games that could use a bit more attention and a bringing up to standard, to help give them a breath of life.
There are so many Nintendo classics I missed back in the day and I'd love to get the chance to play them in HD today. Great suggestions by the way
Interesting. Wonder if they'd manage to make anything decent out of it. The source material is certainly rich enough.
Great suggestions. There are a lot of great classics lost in time. Hopefully the best get their due respect
Always wished I had the patience for modding Lol
Thank you, I appreciate it. haha dk 64 kicked my ass too but the whole time.
Thank goodness for kickstarter
@Roccetarius, I'll update it to give a deserved nod to D2. I can see where you're coming from but I do agree with @soyotos77, easier to get into D3 these days.
Great to see this game getting a sequel.
I actually had a blurb about that originally but decided to cut it for a shorter word count. The gist of it was that D3 was more recent, accessible and friendly to new comers who may have wanted to try the game out.
Does anyone understand the MGS story, really? I feel like only Kojima truly understands it... Lol
