Oblivion was in development for over 4 years, with a simply astonishing world (too big in my opinion) and yet it STILL, STILL only used 4.8Gb! Keep dreaming if you think 25GB - 50Gb will be used in games. Sure, it would send developers bankrupt, if that's what you want. Maybe in 4-5 next generations will that sort of size game be coming out.
Despite its raw power, i just feel that the PS3 isn't a balanced machine. It feels like a 'throw it in and hope it works' approach. If people are happy with that then so be it.
I think Lego star wars should cost the same amount as Table Tennis, because i don't think it deserves a full 360 price. Still a great game though, as was table tennis.
Dragonopolis. You say 'consumers have very little say today'. It's the consumers who pay for the stuff! The majority of consumers usually gravitate towards competitively priced products. So if they see Blu-ray players for an extra $500 where they can get HD-DVD players that look the same (and arguably better at the moment), what are they going to choose? Manufacturers are at the total mercy of consumers. This is what will happen come November. Hardcores will buy up the PS3 and the Playstation...
This is what Microsoft doesn't tell you about. Go to Gamespot, under the 360 section and look at the July sales for hardware and software. 360 sold 207,000, thats a 26% decrease from June. I like the 360 the best, i'm just stating facts.
Funky town, you're talking about Silicon Knights! They are great famed developers. Sure, it looked crap at E3, but games look better as they progress in development. Respect is due.
All that is on my mind is Forza Motorsport 2 and Gears of War. The next generation of dvd formats has not crossed my mind ONCE.

I will wait until 2008 to get either HD-DVD/Blu-ray. Too risky a purchase at the moment. And plus, even better HD-TV's will be out then.

I've never tried mech games. Is this series any good? I decided to play Chromehounds as my first mech game and i was utterly disappointed.

This game looks to blow Saint's Row out the water any day. I mean no motorbikes or aeroplanes in Saint's Row. That's seriously a step back and not next gen. They said there wasn't enough memory on 360, yet Crackdown and Just Cause look 100X better with motorbikes and planes, boats and everything!

Same me DC, i have to wait for a month for UK Dead Rising release. This game is FUN! Saint's Row will be class if the framerate is improved from demo version. It's all good news. I thought summer/early autumn was a dry season for games??
