How can you say that? There are many PC gamers who take pride in the system they built and enjoy upgrading. Certainly much more than your estimate. For some, the tinkering is a hobby in itself.
I don't think your laptop is a good example of an inconvenience of PC gaming because most anyone who considers themselves a PC gamer will have a real gaming desktop that's already plugged into a monitor or TV.

Dlacy13g is right, you know. Varying frame rates feel and look worse than a consistent one, even if it's a lower consistent frame rate.
"NO" what? It's obvious what GG is doing here is exceptional, so to expect every other dev to follow suit is unrealistic. You're discrediting every other developer. Not everyone can or will be the best in a specific area. This isn't even accounting for the fact that GG is an exclusive developer.

But you can place your gaming PC by your television along with everything else, it's what a lot of people do.
I'm still not understanding the appeal of these steam boxes. They just look like PCs for people who don't want to build one themselves.

Next gen BF4 IS 60fps. Though you have to remember that optimizing for one platform and optimizing for 5 isn't the same.

I get where you're coming from, but the truth is that ND aims for that film feel, which you don't get with crazy high frame rates, least not in the cutscenes...
Can't you just limit your frames through a video setting or console command?
