I think we hit the nail on the head with most of these categories tbh. Uncharted 2 is a worthy winner of GotY.
Cracking piece. Really enjoyable read with a turkey sandwich :)
I have to say, despite the marketing suggesting otherwise, I think this game is a much more fluid single player experience than multiplayer. It has been the cause of some furious arguments between myself and the better half so far and we are only starting World 3!
Also, please don't forget peeps that this game is insanely, old-school hard. A proper return to the NES / SNES days for Mario.
I see your point but at least DJ Hero tried something a little different musically also.
Couldn't agree more Mr Pierre. AC2 was a revelation given that the first one was terrible. I don't mind seeing people hone a franchise into something wonderful but I just hope we don't lose exciting and cleve original IPs in the process.
YAS, another PSP!!!!
:/
Love lists like this. Nice counterpoint to all the standard GotY lists.
Uncharted 2 was the first one I thought of too.
Resident Evil 5 dulled my enjoyment of zombie games a bit.
I highly recommend it. The airport level is a bit of ball-dropping but forgivable given the quality of the rest of the game.
Love me the Portal Gun even if it isn't a gun in the truest sense.
I wish it weren't so but any new MW2 DLC is an autobuy for me. Hope they don't do a full spin-off though.
I want to play this so bad but I missed the window of grabbing it pre-MW2. Seems pointless now.
I haven't played this yet but comparing it favorably to the awesomesauce which is SF4 is strong praise indeed.
Cracking article.
All the people rushing to review MW2 make me sad. Such a large proportion of that game is the multiplayer. I don't see how anyone can give it a fair and experienced review on the day of release with such a tiny bit of the game under the belt even if they have finished the campaign.
I'm really glad a lot of people lied and didn't pick MW2. Makes for a more interesting list...
;)
Surely a Wii HD with some decent storage is an inevitability?
It is depressing as hell to picture myself 15, 16 years ago kicking hell out of NBA JAM on the SNES. Man, I wish they would redo that game.
Hmmm, I really enjoyed this review and as I got to the end, braced myself for the 2/10 that was surely coming. 4/10 suggests a game which is slightly below average.
Cannot wait for Last Guardian and Heavy Rain. Ninokuni, the Level 5 / Studio Ghibli collaboration on DS also has me very, very excited.
