But I am not sure I agree.
Get back to me when Mafia ll is released. Story is everything in that game and I predict a massive hit.
I for one really hope they do. maybe a bit of noise about it will make it happen.
I must admit I do like the romance of a good mafia story. Not to worry that in real life they were probably all heartless murdering thugs, it makes a better story the way they are portrayed.
Quite thought provoking but then moral dilemmas often are.
Most things to do with penis are some kind of moron. (jking)
I was talking to the head of 2K studios the other day and he is a year younger than me, I nearly cried. lol
I am perfectly happy to see more boob and weenie jokes so long as companies stop trying to use them to whip up controversy that can damage games in the long run
They did it just as the article says to cause controversy and therefore get publicity.
I think what the article is trying to say is that the gaming industry cannot court publicity through controversy and then scream blue murder when it comes back and bites them in the butt.
And we all know movies get away with all sorts but no one ever said this was fair.
I have written a bit on this myself and in the course of my research I have found (without getting too complicated about it) that less than six percent of gamers could be said to be clinically addicted. That is not to say that some are not playing excessively and suffering some negative effects from it. And 6 percent is still significant. One in every 6 gamers you meet.
Was watching some crappy American cop show the other day and one of the characters came out with this
" The man is an emotional termite, he gobbles up twice his body weight in attention"
I think it fits this situation don't you?
Yeah I agree businesses have a right to make profit but by same token they need to try to future proof themselves as well. The cannot continue to keep releasing same stuff.
i take your point about the gamer though. We need to take more risks as consumers. Maybe lack of this partly explains the reasonably low figures LBP?
Any fool should be able to see that. Re hashing the same old stuff over and over again will ultimately lead to the death of gaming, surely?
I reckon the reason Activision dropped out of Brutal Legend because of their (stated) obsession with ip's that have loads of potential to be turned into yearly franchises.
Because of that I think they should get nothing.
I play games for enjoyment not to be punished with boredom.
I think that last comment is about the state of it though a lot of people seem to think that something that is not going to happen immediately does not count.
it is interesting. most of you quote reasons why this will not happen that seem to deal only with the very immediate future.
Considering how quickly things improve in the world of technology would you all be willing to swear that your reasoning will hold true in ten years time?
Is that so far away to you people that it is not important?
I never said their were no weaknesses.
Are you willing to swear that your costings will be true for evermore? Set in stone are they?
Future proof? Wow.
Yeah I suppose in the short term that is a good point. If consoles begin to become redundant though then so will Sony first party developers.
Top article but the thing is Onlive who have spent millions of dollars and seven years researching the idea say it is possible. Shouldn't they know?
Lets face it there are just so many. We could go on for ages. Not everyone will agree.
About three people get killed an episode. I don't think there is any lack of action.
