It never ceases to amaze me the things people come up with to justify themselves.
That is interesting lets hope the game is as good as that movie.
@mastiffchild
Yeah I agree with most of that. Love the name as well. Should have called myself staffychild.
I think some people need to remember that this is blogging and not The Times. People are entitled to their opinions when they blog.
It is funny as soon as you Fanboys don't like something an article has to say you criticize the website it is on.
What on earth has that got to do with anything?
They would be best selling console if they could, obviously.
Maybe a a bit more of a sense of fun would be good for Sony, it would not want to completely lose its serious gamer image though, that is working for them.
No need to resort to these extreme measures just be better than they are. lol
Loving the reminder of that movie, a classic.
If you don't remember it then you are probably young enough to need this excuse.
Only my first sentence related to what you said, to be more clear about it I was trying to say that I think you are right. But Sony needs to work harder on getting this stuff into people's heads.
well that is it really isn't it.
Sony needs to get head hunting in the MS PR boardrooms.
This is my point, people are paid a lot of money to relay this message. they are getting something wrong.
To who ever said all these 'Sony failed' articles are pointless; is that what you think this is really?
In so many ways Sony have won. I just think that with such fab hardware they should have done better. And don't fool yourself, what ever the software situation, are you really telling me Sony would not like to be selling more units?
@ labwb
I can see all the reasons why they perhaps should be but they are just not, not in terms of sales. I am not arguing about the equipment I don't have the techie knowledge needed, just that they seem to have a bit of an image problem.
Actually I think you will find that most NDA's state that you may make no mention of anything to do with the event til after a certain date.
I once got roasted for confirming via Twitter that an event was even taking place, they can be very touchy.
If uncharted two or any other game for that matter does start to take a bit more advantage of what PS3 has to offer it should be jaw dropping.
Forty miles to school in the snow carrying a horse.
But if you think about it games are hard in other ways these days. AI has improved out of sight and games are much much longer than they used to be.
Some of the destinations out of there have got to be the ultimate in adventurer's holiday.
But seriuosly mate your comment made it sound like there is no action 'painstaking long term surveillance'. The operation may involve surveillance but people are shot, maimed and killed every episode. There are stick ups and kidnappings. How much action do you want?
It is not like we just get frame after frame of cops sitting in their cars.
As I said any game would exaggerate the action element but it is there in the show itself.
I am not sure about this theory, as I found Dead Space extremely frightening and i am well into my thirties.
I must admit Raccoon City scared me too. Maybe I am just a wimp.
Not that I am suggesting it is all about the killing anyway, but a show that has up to three dead an hour has enough action to be converted to a game, of course it does.
The show has action is the point I am trying to make (in response to someone who suggested that it just a long drawn out surveillance operation) of course the action that will be exaggerated in any game, clearly, but that does not mean they would have to lose the strong plot line or character portrayal.
Plot and character driven games are my fav.
They don't need to have book sized dialogue like JRPG's either. Just sensible scriptwriting and good mocap (I think that is under estimated in turns of immersion)
Because it is all just so confusing. the publicity the confusion has caused has got to be good for this titles figures on first release though. People only usually threaten to boycott, nobody who is really interested actually will.
