That is an insta-buy for me. I heard it was hilarious
God forbid someone like the XB1 exclusives and not like the PS4 exclusives and vise-versa. If you fall in that category you are either wrong, stupid, biased, or a fanboy. How dare someone not like all games? SMH. The internet community really gets on my nerves.
@Deividas I didn't hear any of this when the Wii beat both the Xbox and PlayStation 3 in sales last gen.
What are you talking about? Selling a million consoles is great for MS. Even if they are selling less than Sony. Who the hell cares really? Neither are going anywhere it seems like.
Have either of you played Dark Souls per chance?
I really enjoyed the monster fights in both the Witcher 1 & 2 though I would still like to see big boss battles like the kayran fight. Hopefully we will get to stick it to the Wild Hunt as well
@Angel
I don't think MS cares if Sony sold 1 million units in North America alone. I'm sure they are happy to have sold 1 million on the first day. Take the competition out of the equation for a second. How would you feel if you were MS and your console sold 1 million units in a day? My guess is pretty damn good.
Before I say this know that I'm not referring to the PS4 or it's games at all. A game can be rendered at 1080p and still look like crap. Take The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct for example which runs at 720p on the Xbox 360 I think. That game came out earlier this year and it looks like it was made in 2005.
Just sayin' people scoffed at the idea that man would one day walk on the moon.
@Shadowrunner
Yes but to be completely fair you cannot assume that, like the case with Blacklight that the PS4 can be compared to a high end PC just because the PS4 can max the game out.
Think about this, the PS4 costs $400. I know that companies get bulk discounts on parts and Sony is more than likely taking a loss with the PS4. How much power could you actually have with a $400 gaming machine? You can get a mid range card that will run games at medium setti...
@nypifisel
"PS4 doesn't need upscaling, it can actually push 1080p so... yea"
Yes but for how long? 4 years? 5? How long until games become too demanding to run games at 1080p with the hardware that is in them? I'd start hoping that "The cloud power" can improve graphics And this goes for both consoles not just the PS4. We are already starting to see it with COD: Ghosts on the Xbox.
@DeadIIIRed
The same argument can be made that download speeds are getting faster and the price of storage is getting cheaper. I think we are looking at an all digital future, but it's still 5-10 years away.
Valve would be making a HUGE gamble if they did that but I highly doubt that's what they are doing
Your username is Steve Ballmer yet your logo is the PS4...Is it me or are trolls getting lazy? It's one thing if it's funny but come on
I think GTA is to Playstation like Call of Duty is to Xbox. You know?
There is still too much unknown for me to believe this as it is; if you are going to try and sell this to people MS, you need to have tech demos and address the potential issues with bandwidth and latency. Nobody is just going to take your word for it; people, for the most, are not stupid. If you make a claim then back it up with some proof.
These numbers seem pretty believable. Definitely unprecedented pre-order numbers for both consoles.
I was already planning on picking this up in March. If a next gen port is on the way, I may just wait for that.
My XP500s will do just fine thank you
I also see Dark Souls is going on sale. If you haven't played that yet and you are looking for a challenge I highly recommend it. The game teaches you almost nothing and you have to learn though experience. What I like most about Dark Souls is that the game doesn't hold your hand like most modern games do. The story is also surprisingly deep. Though you have to dig for it yourself as well; it isn't spoon fed to you.
