Same. I love Journey more than my own children, so Flower's pretty tempting right now...
Gahhhhh... Classic games seem to be the achilles heel of us nerdos. I wish I could go there, but I appreciate this insight!
Oh boy, an amnesiac furry character with mediocre character designs, character models that stand out against backgrounds instead of look like they're part of the game, and not giving the exploration of a good Metroidvania. Just what I was looking for!
... Yeah, thanks for warning me away from this one.
I wish you could change the color of the main character's hair, though... The blue-on-front-red-in-back really doesn't do it for me.
I love the art for this game, not enough games are colorful! Good diversity of characters, too. Not really entirely my cup of tea genre-wise, but I agree with your score, I think.
Point-and-click games are my nemeses... And if this one sucks as a point-and-click game, I think I'll pass this over as hard as I can. Thanks for the heads up!
I have to disagree with one major thing here: Lincoln Logs were NOT like K'NEX. K'NEX were good.
Other than that, I feel like this review's sorta warning me to be wary before going in, so I think I will do that and wait to see some improvement first.
I can't help but concur with this review. It's a great game to play while doing something else (like listening to an audiobook or podcast or something) while going through those Ran-geons and stuff.
Leave to Keita Takahashi to create a game like that. I guess Katamari Damacy's scope just wasn't enough for him... I can definitely see myself checking this out, though.
...Are you just saying this 'cause you want us to help you beat it?!
See, I complete agree. For example, in Fallout, they had to fill out rooms just so they didn't look ridiculously empty. Instead of just throwing stuff in, though, they'd tell a story. You'd see a skeleton leaning against a bed with a suitcase full of money, holding a shotgun. There was a motorcycle laying sideways on the ground and a headless skeleton nearby, with a ramp that passed under a ceiling fan. Tiny details make all the difference.
I miss you, Mario... You visited for Super Mario 3D Land, but now you never call now. What happened, man? Where'd you go?
... Fine, I'll open my wallet to you again, Square-Enix. Stop putting out Kingdom Hearts games so I can forget you entirely!
Yes, because I believe in positive feedback, but I use outdated slang because it's weird and draws attention from me actually saying something positive because I'm emotionally repressed. What's the issue?
I actually knew the Metal Gear thing, but I never noticed any of that other stuff, especially the SotC thing... I love when a game drops some sweet references, but keeps it hewn subtle so you don't have it thrown in your face.
The system exists for those that follow it. They can't be accountable for those who don't.
This is definitely something that should affect all games. If the player doesn't have some control over the story, you're just playing the traveling scenes (as with FFXIII), or being given roadblocks that reward you with pieces of story instead of just watching a movie and feeling appropriately engaged with it.
See, if they had just given it context, or saved it for the main game when it'd have in-built context, they'd maybe be okay to justify it, but nooo! Violence porn and sexual assault! That's what we have to deal with here!
Dope article, dawg!
Man, those Sony ads were creepy as hell. I feel like the PS3 was Sony's biggest lie, because it didn't have a gateway through the Event Horizon nor did it function like the Hellraiser puzzle box. All it does is just play games and movies and junk.
I didn't think it was a bad ad, but apparently the People Upstairs have different taste than us.
Yeah, that's my impression as well, but it could change when localizing for whatever reason. David Hayter loves playing the role, but that doesn't mean he'll definitely be able to.
