I played Battlezone last week on PSVR at Egx. I think a lot of people are just not ready for the low rez nature of first gen VR and to all that have said the PSVR doesn't have SDE - bullshit, it is there. I'm waiting on my Vive to arrive and have the PSVR pre-ordered. VR is the way, but first gen visuals are not what I'd call impressive. Depth, yes.
This reviewer obviously laments the lack of arcadey comforts. Frankly, I'm about ready for a game which takes the showboating out and replaces it with a more sim type approach. It's great to see the developers produce quality without constraints.
Uth11 is spot on - many of these are not games in the traditional sense. I'll still be dl'ing everyone of them though.
No real killer app though on any of the three so far though which is a little strange for such hardware.
These comparisons to Wii are silly. That was based on a control type that had massive success - everybody loved Wii Sports, even your dog. If it had the power, precision and VR at that time - you would have bought a PS4 on release that was a PSVR.
If you have no enthusiasm, and aren't grinning after your first proper VR experience you need to check your pulse - cos your already dead.
Believe. I tried Gear VR and thought Meh with screen door effect and blurry images - then I tried a demo of Terraria (think that's what it was called) and thought - this is it. Increments of better visuals and textures on a 2D screen don't compare - just bought a Sony 4K 55" about a month ago and I'm still waiting obsessively for that Vive to be delivered.
What is hilarious to me are the doubters who haven't even tried it. Try it and believe, you will.
I'd prefer VIve but No real exposure on games - I thought Valve would have been helping to market the crap out of it. Sony is smashing it.
I'm sure it can do it, but I call bullshit on the demand part. Every video I've seen of VIve has the users raving how much 'more' it is than their Rift experiences
Playing it. Loving it. Really enjoyable game. This persona is a nice little cash Cow for Joe, but time to go back to the day job son. I mean this guy makes money by negging ano shouting his opinion. You can be an Angry 'Insert Name' too, film your opinion, post it up on the Tube, try and get noticed by, er... shouting. I sure as shit won't be paying into his wallet via YouTube - just how much has he paid back to you, me or the community for our 'support'? I'm calling y...
^^^ Who shat in your cornflakes this morning? I see the hate has consumed you....
That was a really interesting article.

The 2 most impressive games that I'm playing now are Siege and The Division. According to this guy I should be playing PvsZ2. Hey, it's your opinion - but to me it's wrong.
I think the upgrade will be to 4k res screens once its cheap enough for them - 2 year cycle? May be it won't need it as I've read Sony Ave cleverly avoided the dreaded screen door effect.
Cheers to the guys above, appreciate that all opinions can be aired - right or wrong, it shouldn't matter, it's just an opinion.
Yes, I did read the article. For me, boss mechanics being vastly different from regular npcs would take it out of a real world setting, and give it more of a arcade/action element. Tougher versions of the regular enemies is about right. The reason why it's not mentioned in reviews is because it's a none-issue - seems pretty logical t...
Same rules apply to gaming in general. Pick another past time. How does fishing sound? NO. WAIT! it's boring because I'm doing the same thing over and over. Tell you what, just chill out, relax and maybe don't think so much about it. Have a snooze. NO. WAIT! Your sleeping AGAIN! It's so boring! So repetitive...
That's just the nature of gaming. I remember playing Space Invaders in the arcades - repetitive, yet amazing.
If your bored with it...
Thanks for the feedback and opinion. But you need to play it before you compare, and I don't just mean the beta. So far if you count the missions and encounters and other game content - guess what? Yup. It shit's on Destiny, from orbit...
If you believe the whole it's the same hype your missing out. Destiny was the most utterly repetitive shit ive played - Bungee are still laughing thier bollocks off at how these mindless drones pumped hours into their overpriced...
I stopped playing after the second 'expansion'. The reason why dlc is taking so long is because the first 3 were already made and part of the game, no need to build anything, while re-charging us. Day light robbery. I funkind hate the game now when I think of all the daily repetitiveness. The Division shit's on it from orbit.
I'm terrified that I'm not going to flash tit meat and that I won't get the hits anymore - that's the simple message from the video.
Glad to see Insomniac back to doing quality. That's the trouble when you make what you want and not what gamers want. You'll be playing your own creations with just your dev team slapping yourselves on the back - while gamers regard your games as shite.
Both Occulus and VIve have the screen door effect, the PSVR does not suffer from this. Now, experiencing a Gear VR (I know it's not the same, but is a huge step up from Cardboard and Co developed bu occulus) I can honestly say this is make or break and the major factor only secondary to price on why the PSVR - in use, may actually supersede both the 'higher' tech models.
Physical copies all the way. I like to get a return on my games in p/x. As much as a piece of circular plastic is, it's still more than absolutely nothing. I play the Division for a month or two, maybe the interest drops around this time with other titles being released - so I p/x or get cash - maybe around the 50% mark or a little less. Win, win. The digital download guy who's in the same predicament gets F All. Or may be a Sony / MS exec shouting 'BEND OVER!' With a huge dir...
No probs. Will do. One thing I've read is that motion sickness is zero on a vive. I can tell you now - 5 mins on PSVR left me feeling not I'll, but like I'd been on a 4 hour car journey. I thought it might be Battlezone but the person I was with had exactly the same sensation playing a totally different game with no vehicle movement. I honestly think itshe the 120 fps and how it's implemented. Forget the pump, the PS4 does not produce a native 120 fps signal and it's the ...
