While I am enjoying the game I cannot say it's the new final fantasy. Main thing for me is the battle system is an online mmorpg battle system. That's proly my only gripe, make it an action RPG system; I hate mmorpg systems of point and click and you just attack, seems lazy to me. Still loving the game though.
Final Fantasy games have always been hit or miss though. Personally I hated FF8, thought it was dumb as hell. Others hated FF9; FF12 is also divisive. And no one can argue that 13 was a pile of junk.
Man I really hope your kidding; ff12 and 13 were absolutely horrible games. FF12 was an mmo disguised as a single player game, and FF13 was on rails.
Well that's his opinion. Personally I think the game is nothing like the show, but to each their own.

I always hate the ESRB for the main reason of M and AO games. So we have M rated games for 17+ and then AO is 18+?? That's just dumb as hell, just make M games 18+ and get rid of AO+ games.

There actually was, just think most people didn't care because it's GTA. And it got shadowed by the whole mom's ban the game from target in Australia.
Why though? 8-bit graphics are shit. Forget about nostalgia, they are shit and cannot convey any kind of good animation for scenes or anything else.
Ok to each their own, but let me ask you this, would you prefer the 8-bit graphics? Cannot stand when everyone says those look good, they obviously didn't grow up during that time since those graphics suck and was all we had. Not saying your like that, I just really hate the young gamers that are like "retro is so cool."
Hah @lovable, acting like persona games have ever had top notch graphics. The only JRPG's with best graphics are final fantasy games. Japanese RPG's always have some of the best gameplay, but bad graphics.
She is a great character, but I always find it hypocrital that no one notices that male characters are the same. Just two examples off the top of my head are gladio from FF15 and kratos. Big muscular guys with shirt off or open.

From what I've seen you state since you get something that it's not gambling, then why are there gambling machines that make sure to usually let you win a little bit so you keep playing. Hell casinos base everything off of this, if you give them a little they will keep playing to win. So loot boxes do the same thing, say you want a specific costume, your going to continue to buy to get it, same as trying to win the jack...
Now the one thing that gamers are forgetting, there is one benefit from going digital, developers don't really need publishers with digital which cuts out the BS that companies like EA do. With digital anyone can make a game and just port to a system or pc without having to worry about money for physical copies. So there is a benefit of it.
