yea I agree with NoMercyOnlyRage. AC got started getting monotonous after the 2nd game. Let the team try out new things.
"They have multiplayer, what would be the point in adding co-op." That's why I hope the flesh it out and maybe make missions and modes that center around co-op. Hopefully it's not like Drop-in/out co-op like Borderlands which is really uninspired.
@DragonKnight
Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are in the minority with that definition. AAA is synonymous with big-budget. Just because game developers call it that doesn't mean people will follow it. AAA is synonymous with big-budget. I'll give you an example.
The creator of GIF(Graphics Interchange Format) said the it is pronounced jiff. God knows I will never change the way I say GIF.
Also I wouldn't call games like Hotline Miami, Braid, ...
"it is my strong belief that a AAA turn-based game can be just as successful as a AAA game in any other genre, including FPS and action."
Define successful? Successful in financially or ratings? I'm guessing you mean financially. This just all depends on the publishers (and developers). Hell, I remember Square Enix saying how Sleeping Dogs, Hitman and Tomb Raider were all failures. So the term success in the eyes of a publisher is "Did it sell as much as Call of Dut...
he means that, To be able to log in, post a comment, and check this website you have to connect to a server that has all this data(aka the cloud (I hate that term)). The cloud(pls kill me) is just a fancy word for saying "internet" or "server".
Hell you can tell where the term came from if you google. "network diagram"
Why is there so much backlash? People being skeptical is one thing, people denying its existence is another. The baby steps of cloud(server computing/streaming) would just be the internet. A step up from that, would be sites like Netflix. Next would be computing/streaming programs. I'm hoping this takes off. I mean if I were to apply this to a PC game, maybe if you were running a low-end PC there would be an option to use the cloud to up the graphics or to somehow lessen your PC work load...
This is looking ridiculously awesome. The graphics look amazing, and I can't wait to play it. Also love the crap ton of effort they are putting in as the lore for this game. Also the fan made ships look stupidly awesome, and I wish all of them were in the game. Hopefully this shows something to the people who still think this is just a total scam.
Can't wait to get my hands on this.
Sounds great.
"...some higher-quality alternatives, will be discussed in more detail in our upcoming Dark Souls 2 tweak guide.
I will be looking into that also. Cant wait for it.
I would love to see a good version of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis game. Basically it just a good management game like zoo or roller coaster tycoon but designed for Dinosaurs.
Damn that looks hideous.. Anyways, the game looks great from what I've seen (besides what you have posted). Question to everybody who has the game. How is the LOD if your far away? As in, if you look at a building far away, does it still look good?
Also I'm interested to see if anybody else has a similar picture of the same area.
Honestly PC gamers notice the difference a lot more because they sit a lot closer to their monitors. For console gamers, the difference is subtle, for PC gamers the difference is huge.
I agree that 30 or 60 fps depends on the game, but almost all 3D games should aim for 60 fps, hell any game that you need to move a camera somewhat quickly. That includes games like infamous and dark souls. The stutter isn't tremendous but its there and it adds up. Your eye catches the stutter every few seconds (especially if you move the camera quickly) and it adds up and the game ends up feeling slow because of it. You will definitely spot it when you get used to playing games at 60FPS ...
I saw the live stream and it was pretty sweet to me. Out of 1 hour they had to present the game it was only about 12 minutes of game-play. As you said, presentation was pretty bad if you compare them to other video game presentations. I also backed star citizen and I imagine everybody had the same idea when they saw the gamplay. They probably thought "One step closer." Also they have an incredible amount of talent on their team, and since this will be the pinnacle of PC gaming, Cryt...
Yea I don't get what all the fuss is about. I just see this as a port. I have a PS3 now but I have not played/bought the Last Of Us. I will probably get a PS4 in the future and when I do I will probably get TLOU on the PS4 because it just seems like the better deal to me. This isn't as bad as the Street Fighter or Tomb Raider editions because they would release multiple editions on the same console. Anything a company does can be called a cash crab cause that's why they exist, to ...
I believe he has a point. The biggest criticism for Titanfall from what I hear, is that there is not enough content.
The reason why the controls wont be any good is that games run some code every frame like inputs. So in a game that is 24fps you have 24 chances to make an input in a second versus a game the runs at 60fps(60 chances). My question for other people is why is 24fps good for films? Also I'm sure there are some PC games that let you cap the frame rate. These are some of the games I have checked that can limit the FPS to 20, 30, and/or 60.
Borderlands 2
Dark Souls (Modded)
There have been other fast paced MMOs. The biggest one that comes to mind is Tera Online. The problem with all MMOs now is that the questing is all the same. Kill 5 of those, 2 of that, 10 of these. It becomes monotonous.
Oh god. I don't have Dark Souls 2 (waiting fo PC version), but I remember the meanest thing I have done in Demon Souls and Dark Souls was I would send the enemy a message over PS3, wait a few seconds and attack. In Demon Souls I had a friend in my world so when people invaded, I would send a message, Soul Suck them while they are replying back, and my friend would get the kill. Did of plenty of scumbag-ish things in those games, my reply is usually welcome to Dark Souls.
Nobody is talking about the second half of the article because most people probably agree with it. You mad 3 points. Points 1 and 3 are essentially the same. Its about companies paying their way in. Everybody agrees this is bullshit and everybody still probably remembers the Geoff Keighley, Mountain Dew, and Doritos picture. Your 2nd point about NDAs I can understand, but I don't have a full opinion, since I don't know the how they really work.
These are easy things to agree o...
we have a winner.
Yea I would have to agree. Main reason why I don't like a lot of JRPGs is because they fell all the same.
