No it doesn't, stop gloryfying Nintendo,

they've announced they are planning a $200M LOSS for this fiscal year (ends with march), the company is facing another annual loss

$450 entry level (256GB)
$500 premium (512GB + game bundled and some crap)

key features: SSD drive which is part of the console specs
(not just an optional accesssory like 360's HDD)

that would be an optimal balance between affordability, marketing, and sheer power and lightning performance; it'd make a killing

I don't know what the panic in Nintendo Camp is all about.

The 3DS is going to be a gigantic money maker for them and the bestselling console of all time.

The Wii U is currently sold at a $21 loss but makes up that money when its owner buys a Mario game, which the person usually does. Plus the future will bring a reduction in manufacturing cost for the system and a break-even.
Even if Wii U shares the same fate with GameCube it is still going to b...

Microsoft and Sony do well because their console are the golden age of gaming - a 7 year constant stream (overkill) of "AAA" huge budget and technical quality games - these consoles have made gaming a mainstream hobby for 20+ and 25+ people with their own income and households, with game budgets and tech advancement skyrocketing throughout the generation.

the DS and 3DS do well because they became the go-to premium and state of the art gaming toy for children, makin...

seems like a waste of silicon, unless MS has something really unexpected up their sleeve

the images are too small :D

KZ: they're saying the touch controls are not overblown and fit the game nicely

and for Tearaway: it looks fenomenal and like nothing you've seen before

the website is also going to publish behind the scenes videos from their visit to Guerilla and MM

Looks like all new GAMING systems get trounced by existing PS360 duopoly - nothing can match the current-gen consoles, they are a beast and only now show moderate signs of fatigue.

The exception is of course the 3DS - because IMO it is not a gaming system in a traditional sense, it is mainly a kids' toy bought by parents for their little sweet-hearts :P There's no competition between dad's Ni No Kuni and daughter's Mario

Namco Bandai are total f* ups...
They provided the wizard's book for free with every regular copy in Japan and now they did this? the Wizard's Editions should hae been readily available like in any other game's case !!!

"Nintendo has the talent and expertise to forge a glorious future. It just has to trust that it can fly without the safety net of nostalgia underneath it."

Nice.
But anyway, they still seem to have a lot of new ideas for their good ole' franchises, so it's better to develop them into what will be part of this civilization's greatest heritage, instead of experimenting with games just for the sake of it, in order to look cool to dorks

Amazon has everything available and running, as always, start doing your gaming shopping there, right now it's probably the best place to do it

And no, i don't work from them :P

Edit: Okaaay, it's sold out there too :D
But it's still there on GameStop :D

SSDs are expensive at retail because they are currently a very niche product, only bought by high-end PC hobbists, therefore the margins are so high, in order to make money on people that spend $1000s assembling their super powerful PCs, and make up for the investment in a new technology

Sony is in a position to negotiate a contract for 10-20 million SSDs at lower production costs (the effect of scale) and very little (5%) margins for the manufacturer and zero distribution an...

I'm betting on an SSD from Sony.
Sony wouldn't be Sony if they hadn't introduced to the mass market a new futuristic storage medium:
PS1 - CD
PS2 - DVD
PS3 - BD
PS4 - SSD
That would of course make the storage space only 256GB entry level and 512GB premium SKU, but it would make the PS4 seem like another Sony console with tech from the future (like Cell and BD) and that is by itself value added and helps sell the hardware to tech enth...

I'm sure Nintendo fans are going to buy it for the regular Mario/Smash/Zelda treatment, but gone is the child-toy Wii/DS factor and the system will meet N64 and GameCube's fate: Only the loyal will be buying it and then only buying Nintendo games (3rd parties drop support)
