All company do this, I work for directv and customers always get free stuff by trying to cancel. But we also have them for 2 years because they sign a contract.
Customer service told me that they could set up a gold account for me for only 10 dollars a month. I know a year costs 60, but they offered me the monthly plan. Microsoft is going the route of trying to get every dime they can. I know sony charges for online, but they do not charge to use the browser or netflix. I'm surprised there isnt a credit card machine built into it, to use this feature swipe card.
Microsoft did not offer me anything. I called them asking why internet explorer needed a gold membership to use. I received nothing but silence on the other end. Wanted to show the wife that she could search the internet while watching tv, a message pops up saying you need gold for that. Are you kidding me? The biggest reason I am pissed at microsoft is that the one almost requires gold. I opened mine and tried to show my wife the features. Internet explorer, one guide and netflix require gold. I cannot believe internet explorer requires gold to use. I asked for dr3 for christmas and now I am really thinking of taking this damn thing back. Every xbox should come with a month of gold out of the box. Day one edition my ass.
My launch ps3 controller still holds a charge, granted I use a dualshock most of the time that I purchased later on. Crash bandicoot did not launch the same time as the ps1. I remember cause it was the first game to use a cd jewel case, and not the huge cases the launch games used.
