That's quite unfortunate especially considering the PS3 was like the last to even GET Crystal Defenders. PJM is far superior to that game anyway.
You forgot the moving stories of "_______ Movie".
Well I for one love MGS's story, yes even 4's. I'm not going to go into details why since this post will be 10 paragraphs. It's not perfect and there are parts I dislike (mostly dealing with Otacon), it's still a storytelling hallmark for the industry. So for now we'll just have to accept that neither of us can change the other's mind as far as that goes it seems.
However, pretty much everything that's being said about games and storytelling, not being art and so forth has been ...
It's funny too that this is coming from Cage considering the first 2/3rds of Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy was one of the best gaming and storytelling experiences I've ever had.
It was something that could have easily been put in a movie but you wouldn't have had the same tension as you did as Lucas trying to cover your tracks, investigate what was happening, and try to live a normal life. Just as you had to catch yourself as the other side, find mistakes in the things you did as L...
Hah aside from Star Wars, there isn't that much in the movie industry that can touch the complexity and depth MGS's story. The others well, Heavy Rain isn't out yet so unless you work for QD then there's not much known about the story. Uncharted was an homage to Indiana Jones and pulp action, while the story wasn't necessarily deep (LIKE Indiana Jones) it was interesting and enjoyable.
GTA4 just like every other GTA before it eventually devolves into pop culture references and Ma...
That's bullshit, a game can tell a story just as well as a movie, if not better since it's an interactive experience. It all just depends on the writer of both mediums. You're not going to compare movies with trite stories (mostly everything that gets released) to something like Xenogears. Just the same that you can't compare some random mindless action game where you have "Guy With Guns" who has to save the ______ from the ________ with Donnie Darko, Moon, Fight Club etc.
Yasunori Mitsuda, Shoji Meguro, Akira Yamaoka, and Daisuke Ishiwatari are like my favorite game composers ever. Throw Zuntata and Hideki Okugawa's SF3 stuff in and you've got a force. Oddly enough as much as I love Yasunori's work, he totally screwed the pooch on the Alpha 3 soundtrack.
Shoji never disappoints, his stuff in fact gets better each game. Akira should be working with Tricky or something seeing as how his trip hop beats are amazing and atmospheric to boot. And althou...
No Chronotrigger, Xenogears, or Street Fighter? No way.
Yeah outside of GGPO, BlazBlue has hands down the best netcode of any fighter and I have them all.
BlazBlue was seriously the package that all console fighting games should emulate. Even though I got an ungodly amount of time in SFIV, when you open that BlazBlue box your purchase was like instantly justified.
About time, they said this a while ago and Ono once again reiterated it at Evo. Hopefully online for consoles has a damn proper lobby and Vega has a damn proper overhead and armor or something on his EX FBA.
DC2 won't happen. If anything they should release the dev tools for the Dreamcast to the public and turn it into an open source console for indie game development. And since Amazon and Thinkgeek have been selling Dreamcasts as of late, they can be the distributors.
Hah Asheron's Call, and Asheron's Call 2. ..which I didn't like because I hate fantasy.
Talk like a pirate day is the greatest holiday conceived by man (closely followed by No Pants Day). I will be partaking in it even though I'm allied with ninjas, also for the free game.
They've made like 4 games on the DS, one of which (this one) has an unbelievably huge amount of stuff in it exclusively ON THE DS. How is it that they all of a sudden don't care about DS gamers now and there's no incentive to buy it? They made the game for the system and it's an exclusive.
I can see if they hyped it up and canceled it then brought it out for another system, THEN you might have a point. But with that attitude you're exhibiting, if everyone acted as you did then 5t...
So their current and past efforts on the DS don't mean sh*t all because they're off to broaden their horizons? It's the single most ambitious and innovative game on any platform this year, system and sequel be damned. Why wouldn't there be incentive for a DS owner to buy this game? You don't buy a game hoping for a sequel, you buy a game because the game YOU ARE BUYING is good.
Both of them have match recording, the 360 has Trueskill, PS3 has clans. So each system has an exclusive feature, which was said a long time ago anyway. They just wrote that article to incite fanboys who likely won't even buy the game.
You sir, win N4G.
Buying that Day 1.
Well they've been there for a while, Q designed the XMB and the audio visualizations afterall.
