I always thought they were working on this to be honest. even after they took bc out the newer models the option for ps2 game saves was still there. I personally think they trying to find a way to use to cell to upscale games via the GS, or they could be attempting to get the cell to do it all. Either way it would be great for me to be able to play the original god of war in HD even if it's only upscaled.

I look at a sony as the nintendo equivalent when it comes to entertainment. they have enough in house musical artist, and movie studios to where they could do their own last.fm or netflix thing in house. get a few other movie companies like WB or universal to put their back catalog on the service and they in business imo. I personally think this playstation cloud thing is gonna be what really set's sony apart from MSFT.

unfortunately many basic consumers don't know about ubuntu, many don't know about open office, avast, cc cleaner, or any other free software or utility out there for the taking. most consumers feel if a price tag isn't attached to it it's not quality. ubuntu is one of the best OS' I've touched in a long time but if I tasked my wife with navigating ubuntu she'd be turned off by it. agreed. I know guys how have bought 9400 and 9500's thinking they can run certain games only to have choppy framerates on a lot of games. They didn't do the proper research. A lot of pc gaming noobs don't know on the Nvidia side that the first number represents the cards generation.

the console gamer stigma around pc gaming is it's too expensive, you have to update hardware every year, etc, etc,. Without realzing that console gaming is becoming more and more like pc gaming. Last gen I'd never believe my ps3 or 360 would need to have a game patched. I never woulda though that i'd be updating firmware for the console os. I never woulda thought there would be multiple sku's to a console.
10 bucks for a game that would easily go for 60 bucks on any console is well worth it.
if you have a steam account and are into niche games i.e psychonaughts, okami, oddworld, etc,. The genre may take some getting used to but this would be your type of game.
patch your system, get the latest drivers, and update windows. It sounds hard to believe but many people overlook these 3 items. Wow dude I was just giving you another perspective on pc gaming. I can relate with being a family man as I'm one with a wife and TWO kids. Like i said before you don't need a tricked out rig with led's and 12 case fans and dual power supply's and all that. A nice mid-size case and decent components will run you close to the price of a 360 elite or ps3. I tried to have a decent discussion and you come at me with insults.
