I've heard a lot of people praising DOOM for its use of "old-school" mechanics like health pickups and no reloads, why? Those mechanics were took out because they were past their time so why bring them back, it can only do more harm than good.

They just don't sell as many systems as people think, this one won't and it will be Driveclub next. Systems won't sell until the TRUE NEXT GEN games come out like AC: Unity.

I didn't really like Infamous: Second Son, it had more Tropes than Pacific Rim and the Graphics seemed to be top priority, it did bore me but i can't say it wasn't a system seller-ish.
A system selling game should only be judged by it's intended audience. Destiny will be the first full system seller for both consoles because of it's fanba...
If you want it for any other reason you can buy it right now on ps3. If you want to see the ps4's style of footage just go on youtube and find the e3 2012 demo.
They can't show real footage of gameplay though, it's all they have to sell it on so why spoil it?

I have both next gen consoles but everytime i think about spending that grand on a pc i feel gutted like its a missed opportunity.

When Chris Roberts said they could, it was because at the time, with the amount of kickstarter money (around 15 million) they could. it is now past 40 million and they have upgraded the engine so much that it has surpassed the new gen of consoles....waaah!
