I don't know about Apple...but they are still far behind Samsung in the global market so that was probably a bad example.
No company cut the prices if not needed, XB1 needed it to be sold, no one wanted that console, was over equipped, bad reputation, bulky, inferior HW...no way they could sold that when the other console offers more for a cheaper price...this weekend will show why MSFT did what they did.

3 best PSO ever is difficult to list, too many! Mega Man Legends, Syphon Filter. DRIVER, FF, RE, Dino Crisis, Silent Hill...impossible to list only 3...great console!

When you cut the price of your console only 6 months after launch it just means things are not going as planned
I don't think it has anything to do with buying exclusive rights but rather with installment base, if a developer/publisher want to deliver the best game without parity restrictions and at the same time invest less and make more profit, why not to go with the PS4?
People have forgotten, this era is the PS2 all over again, maybe not everybody experienced that era but SONY didn't pay for exclusives then, it was always cheaper for companies to focus on one platform and g...
X360 had for sure more than 7.6 M by Dec 31 2007, it was at 7.x before xmas
Anyway, Xmas figures weren't know until jan-feb, impossible to know x-mas sales for any console already by dec 31, no matter the year

Just for the record
-15 dec 2007 had X360 sold 15M, 2 years after launch and including releases of games like Gears of War and Halo 3 which sold lots of consoles...so X1 is rather selling as well as X360 but mostly thanks to cut prices just some months after launch.
-It took 21 months for the PS3 to sell 15M, consider that PS3 launched in PAL territories 6 months after US and JP...despite of that, it reached 15M faster than X360...the end of the story we know today. ...
It was meant for Europe, I don't see the big problem, at least not in Scandinavia, nudity is natural and shown on TV daytime, PS Vita is for rather mature gamers so I think it's a cool ad.
The PS3 was a Bluray player and a powerful gaming console, a Bluray player-only device by that time costed more than the PS3.
X360 (399 USD) + HD DVD ext unit (199 USD) was 600 as well, difference is that HD DVD lost the battle and PS3 was still playing BR and games after several years while the X360 didn't and if you were luck (no RROD) would still play games.
I think early adopters of X1 got that, be early adopters, it's a pleasure and need for many...
SONY has done this all the time, recall being asked if I owned a GC, Dreamcast, Xbox , etc

Of course gamers know about High quality design, WE ARE the customers, WE keep the industry alive and decide which studios are successful and which not much.
Every game we recommend is a vote for that studio to continue developing games.
They do games for US, and should think about US when designing a game. Many devs have been punished for trying new stuff which is unfair because many studios let others to take the risks and when the innovation comes they jus...

Still inferior HW and selling less than PS4, not a chance they will sell more than PS4 this Holiday unless they are willing to lose money on it

This X-mas SONY better be prepared with enough stock, people think sales have been great but the truth is that it' nothing compared to what comes, still lots of PS3 owners that has yet to upgrade, good news is that they are happy with SONY's game support to the platform today so they are definetely going the PS4 way.
I'm one of those, I don't have much time to game lately so still waiting to play GoW Ascension, Nino Kuni and Beyond Two Souls before saying good...

Don't care, don't play that game and will never do, a Metroid from RETRO studios sells the Wii U to me, just the amount of quality 1st party games from SONY is reason enough to get the PS4, many all-time favourites games of mine in that bunch...not even taking into account new franchises being introduced this gen

PS3 plays PS One games as well, or? I played some in my fat one, haven't tried on my SLIM, though but I guess all PS3 models are PSOne compatible...large number of games at least
