There will not be a better RPG than this for years. It makes my love affair with Dragon Age: Inquisition felt like a total waste of time.
I don't see what the big deal is. GTA 5 is more upscale but it is essentially the same murder simulator as this game.
Why not? As far as Kickstarter goes this game is standing on the shoulder of giants.
This game should win GOTY based on the questing content and world building alone. The world is even more depressing and hopeless than Bloodborne. I've seen dark fantasy and gothic games before, but nothing so war and poverty stricken.
After taking 2 different characters to the end of NG+ I'm done with this game. It's going to take nothing short of an expansion and boat load of new content to bring me back. Plus there is no point in farming more blood rocks when everyone uses the same weapons all the time.
Since most console gamers are used to this kind of performance they're totally oblivious to it. My cousin doesn't even know if the PS4 UI isn't supposed to lag like that and he considers frame rate drop from jumping into a pack of drowners to be normal.
Definitely. I own both the PC and the PS4 version and it's clearly that the PS4 struggle with this game. The frame rate is ridiculous. Everything is acceptable when I'm standing in town but when I jump into a pack of drowners it takes a sub 20 fps dive making combat on the PS4 super awkward. Then there is the silly issue with the UI lag. Navigating between the inventory tabs and NPC smithy tabs causes this extremely annoying half second delay or hitching and it's driving me insan...
This isn't Drive Club. It's a real PC style racing sim that demands the proper setup. But even then, the devs shouldn't be releasing games on the PS4 if they're not going to spend enough time optimizing the gamepad controller for the casuals.
I just bought a 980 GTX....still waiting for that free copy of Witcher 3 so I can compare with the PS4 version.
Lets hurry up with that voucher Amazon.
I thought Bloodborne would be GOTY until I played this. The Witcher 3 is so freaking epic that it killed my anticipation for anything else coming out in 2015.
The UI and text are basically straight up PC ports and they stand out like a sore thumb. I may have 55 inch 4k TV but it's hard to read the texts when I'm playing this game on my bed and the TV 8 feet away.
I seriously doubt it will look like that.
30 seconds is a console problem. The PC have a quickload option where it is virtually instant. God I miss quickload.
FPS is king in this game so ultra isn't as important as performance. Though the game does look freaking amazing. The best looking RPG ever and like all PC games it'll look better in time.
A PC game with useful mods...you don't say. Whats next, it's possible to hit 60 fps too?
"They didn't focus on it" Are you serious? It's a Fromsoft game. Stop pretending they're some sort of white knight in this industry. DLCs is their stock and trade, virtually of the Souls games are filled to the brim with DLCs.
It all comes down to this. When I spend $500+ on a GPU I need know that there are developer support for all it's fancy features. For example, Mantle was supposed to be AMD's killer app. Now quick, how many Mantle games are there?
Exactly.
Nvidia is running their GPU business like it's a console. They're directly assisting developers, they're making sure that key releases supports their brand, and they stay ahead of every new release with p...
Ummm....this is the case for almost every PC game.
Please do something about the PS4 loading time, it's Bloodborne like, and I die a lot on the hard difficulty.
This is the worst trend in gaming. I fear for future console generations as they're doomed to be stuck with whatever greatest hits that will arise from this generation instead of enjoying new experiences.
