Buy games. Don't Hype them. So far all SONY's exclusives this year have sold less in the same time as their prequels from 2 years ago when the world had 30 million less PS3's in it.
So buy games, quit hyping them because when they average 84 you're gonna cry bias.
They do have Xbox Live and can pretty much guarantee it will be online and fully functional during E3...oh and they've got money, lots.

Paying for Xbox Live isn't very economical because even though it is marginally cheaper here (at times) it is BARE and pathetic, not worth it.

While I find it commendable that some people do not let reviews influence their purchases, I myself have been burnt when I exercise that particular practice.
Sometimes (most times) the games are really as bad as the reviews suggest.
My advice is find a reviewer with the same tastes as you and stick with him/her or you'll end up buying Spider-man 3 and Raging Blast 2 and getting sorely disappointed
