Wait, so when Treyarch decides to try a new setting, he calls it tired, yet his company is the one making ANOTHER modern shooter this year?!
I feel like the emphasis on drones/machines/etc will really give a different feel to multiplayer. It might not be so much about infantry anymore. Treyarch seems like they know how to switch things up, so I'm confident that it will be good.
EDIT: @SuperBeast811 well mason was born in 1933, and he was still alive as of 1978ish, if he had a kid in the late 70's early 80's, the kid would be around 45. The COD franchise doesn't really have a problem with older prot...
What I'm wondering is if the Black Ops series is in a seperate universe from MW. Maybe we're only that technologicaly advanced in 2016 in MW, but in BLOPS were 5 years ahead of that in 2016.
Ehhh maybe it's a little playing it safe, a little of wanting to be close enough to the original BLOPS so that they had a way to tie the story together. I believe the main character is Masons son, and Woods is in it. If it was too far into the future, neither of those would be able to happen. From a story perspective it makes sense not to go all out like BF2142.
P.S. If your wondering why I think the main character is Masons son, pause the trailer when he is looking at the map/wat...
exaclty what i was thinking! I bet there will be active camo ("invisibility cloak") too, because in the interactive trailer on callofduty.com, they reference it multiple times (although it is on tanks). Maybe we get to use ative camo on the sniper mission? I wouldn't doubt it.
Not if i have anything to say about it! MW3_KILLSHOT12, +bubble vote for... bravery?
thank you! this is exactly what i've been saying. it's damned if they do, damned if they don't.
EDIT: @cyclonus007 well, damned by people in the comment section, obviously not in the sales department haha
Also, I think the horses are because the tecnological means of transportation can be compromised by the enemy. Like Woods said, the enemy probably "got the keys" and can control all of the US' drones/vehicles/etc. So horses it is!
Look on the map watch when he pauses it. It looks like it says Mason. Maybe we play as his son?
Oh ok. I undertand now. I didn't hear that. From what I heard this is Cold War 2. I guess we'll have to wait to find out! :)
"Going the alternate future route is a risky gambit." How can it be alternate future? Does the author know how the future will play out? And the comparison to Turning Point isn't entirely relevant. I don't think that there is any history tweaking going on here. And a futuristic setting isn't very risky. especially not for COD. People will buy it because of brand recognition alone, plus, it looks interesting.
i try not to pay attention to the whole "COD sucks, i hate everything to do with it" train. i didn't love MW3 like I did BLOPS, but it wasn't a bad game by any means. And as for number 2 in your cycle list, Treyarch seems to always change it up as much as possible, so there WILL be change. (i'm expecting a few disagrees for that last sentence haha)
what do you mean? i love call of duty. I wish they had stuck with cold war, but if they want to change it up, im all for it. I didn't mean it in a bad way at all.
for someone with a trollface as their avatar, you sure do make alot of sense. +bubble for you good sir!
Woods will be 95 in this game. It's not too unbelievable. Oh ya except for that little incident with the grenade. HOW IS HE ALIVE!?
and shottysnipa417 thats actually a realy good point i never thought of that.
branching storylines... wow didn't see that coming. Maybe the trolls will shut up for a few minutes now! haha just kidding. but seriously this game looks like it could be a good change of pace for the series.
Yay Woods is in a nursing home! i was right! wait what? the Vault? what is this shit?! weird name for a nursing home but oh well the game looks awesome. now if we can fly those jets...
EDIT: also, i don't think this site is correct. If it was set 20 years after black ops wouldnt it be the 1980's or 90's?
i get what you're saying, but just because their opinion is that COD sucks, doesn't mean they need to go to every article just to let people know. dubt72 is right. They voice their opinions a little too much. If you don't like the game, ignore articles about it. It's as simple as that.
Everyone wants COD to do something different, but even though this is a faily large change (setting wise anyways) there will still be whiners. At this point, nothing they do will stop the hate. I'm excited for this though! Maybe this WILL be enough to at least get people to lay off the series a little bit.
Yeah, I just read that on Kotaku this morning. Sounds like they're trying for a varied experience. Can't wait for the gameplay reveal tonight!
