By just adding ultimate to the title means it is better? If I make a site can I call my GOTY the "Badass Game Of The Year"?

The future of technology is looking good. I do think we are going to hit a point within the next two generations though where the focus moves from textures to physics/interaction in enviornment.

Just my opinion

What do you think a Microsoft employee is going to say?

It's liked he is stuck in 1997. I've never seen him mention a game from 2000 on.

WTF? If he is going to go retro for number 1 then at least go with Ms. Pac Man. I love Tetris, but that sh*t aint the best game ever.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is a Top 50 game, and not a Top 3 game.

A Link To The Past > Twilight Princess

Half Life 2 > Half Life 1

Grand Theft Auto 3 is too high. It was revolutionary for the time, for sure, but since then Rockstar has improved the formula greatly in all following GTA's. If you want fun...

Because I havent played a Zelda since the SNES (besides at friends houses), and always wanted Zelda. Would be awesome to have a Zelda with HD graphics and current gen power.

It will never happen but I always hoped. At least we had SoTC which I thought gameplay wise was very similar

I think the game is just as visually stunning as RAGE, and will be a contender for Uncharted 2's crown.

From that list I'll go with Heavy Rain

Nintendo could give a f**k what the hardcore want. If they cared about HD graphics, high processing capabilities, and top notch technology then they wouldnt have created the Wii in the first place.

They have over 30 million casual consumers who would gladly spend $250 on a Wii2 even if it didnt come close to what we will be seeing from the PS4 and next Xbox. Hell it may not even be as powerful as the PS3.

It's obvious to them that they need to keep innovating for t...

I'm sure this is early on, and obviously the game is a Wii game so dont expect too good graphics, but the game world looks meh too me. The art work looks much better

That in the past 200 years the word "art" has become very broad. Marcel Duchamp blew up the art world with his interpertation of art. I'm doing homework right now and looking at this handout. According to Duchamp there is art just in this piece of paper with writing on it when it comes to emotions because I feel a certain way when I see it.

If we look at art with a very broad brush then yes I can easily agree that gaming is art.

But....

You can only name 3-4 games that are "artsy". Everyone says a Ueda game (SoTC, Ico), Bioshock, Okami, and a couple others.

You don't see people who love paintings only mention 10 paintings as art, and the rest "not yet there".

People always mention Shadow of The Colosssus. Well that is the exception and not the norm.

When games like SoTC become the norm then gaming will become art.

While there are a handful of games that I think could be considered it, the medium as a whole isnt there yet.

Yes, there are beautiful games but game artwork and screens dont make gaming a artform.

Gaming will be considered art to me when a majority of games move from fulfilling shallow fantasies to instead conveying emotion, feelings, and the human conditions in a interactive way.

I'm not saying all games dont do this already or need to do it in the ...

I don't think you can say at this moment that Sony is the better FPS console. With the major support from Valve (L4D, The Orange Box=The Good Version), the yearly Halo's (Halo 3 and ODST), and getting map packs early from Infinity Ward.

While the PS3 has all the great multi-plat shooters, and their own two franchises (Killzone/Resistance). I dont think either of those are on the level of Left 4 Dead and Halo.

Whats the point of a 10 point scale if you never go below 6?? Hell, I give this dude props for giving his opinion and taking advantage of the entire 10 point scale. Nowadays a 6 is a horrible game, and anything below a 6 must be horrendous.

I have played Operation Flashpoint, so I'm not sure if his points are legit, but if they are then props to him.

I only think COD4 from your list should be on there. While Killzone 2 and Resistance 1 were awesome online games, but I think the other ones on the list were just as deserving.

Honestly, I think Killzone 2 (while a fun game) shouldn't be on here just because of the rocket launcher issues early on, and the built in lag.
