As much as I love the Halo franchise and the Bungie guys/girls, I would like them to explore new territory and make new IPs in different genres. I do realise the company is not as big as EA or Ubisoft who can churn out game after game year after year, but still, I'd love to see what other ideas Bungie can come up with.
I doubt Final Fantasy on 360 will be 20 Discs, but the picture was funny nonetheless :). I don't think Final Fantasy 13 has any problem running on the 360's hardware, even though it may not be as powerful as the PS3's. The main problem I think is Disc space.
Whereas with Blu-Ray, there's 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc, with DVD there's only a measly 8.54GB (Approx 9GB)on a double-layer disc; far too little I think for the size of the game.
...
Business is business, I suppose...
"It gives the Xbots fuel to talk crap about the system"
And this is professional journalism? Who exactly approved THAT crap? I know they're the IGN PS3 Team, but still, no need to be biased or arrogant. Sounds like something you'd hear form the Open Zone on N4G...
"When UT3 was released for the PS3 last year, XPlay did a review and called it a "Multiplatform" title, even though the 360 version was not even given a release date yet at that time. In that review, they failed to even mention that it was only available for the PS3 at the time."
They were right actually. You seem to forget that UT3 was ALSO on the PC and was for nearly a month before it was available on the PS3 in North America...
I've said this before but I'm still not impressed. People who think that Gears Of War 2 will have the graphics of Metal Gear Solid 4 or Crysis are only setting themselves up for disappointment, in my opinion. The game's not a huge leap forward graphics-wise and it looks more-or-less the same as the first one.
I'm still not impressed. Don't get me wrong, it looks good and it seems to play well, but it still seems like too much of the same- same sort of colours, same sort of weapons/characters/locations etc. But I'll wait 'til I see more of it before coming to a final conclusion...
Some of the set-pieces look genuinely epic, and at more than one point I went, "Wow". However, I think it looks too much like a normal hack-and-slash, but I'll wait 'til I see more.
I'll just stick to XP thanks...
I remember playing an Abe's Odyssey Demo on the PS1...Ah, I'm getting all nostalgic now...
That was pretty impressive stuff. Granted, I barely understood any of it, but it was impressive nonetheless.
Halo 1's very good, no doubt about that, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it the "best shooter of all time"- I think there are better FPS shooters than Halo like Half-Life 2, Counter Strike and Bioshock to name a few. Halo 1 is the best game in the HALO SERIES, in my opinion, and even though it suffers from repetitive game play and repetitive environments, I think it's still more..."mature" than Halo 2/3.
I suppose it could be worse- just be thankful it's not like 5 DVD's! Wasn't Metal Gear Solid for PS1 2 Discs or something? No-one complained about that. Still, I think it's a bit unacceptable in this day-and-age, when technology has advanced so much, that space is a problem for developers when it shouldn't be.
No. I don't want the Halo series to go down the path of Final Fantasy with Halo 7, 8, 21 etc. I have nothing against Final Fantasy- I just don't want the Halo franchise milked where we have a new Halo game every year/two years. Besides, Halo Wars is coming out soon as well as the project from Peter Jackson. I think we have enough Halo for now.
Does anyone use IE any more? I've been using Firefox for a few years now and I haven't looked back since- greatest browser ever! (In my opinion)
Makes me wonder what exactly the developers were doing for the past 10 years...
I think Huxley looks really good and at one stage I was really interested in it. But now it's sort of slipped under the radar which is a pity. I'd like to hear/see a bit more of it, and hopefully we will at E3.
God Of War wasn't an RPG....
Umm...you do know the site's called SARCASTICgamer...?
Well, how exactly do you revolutionise the FPS genre? Even Bioshock didn't do anything all that revolutionary, albeit for adding in different abilities, but it made up for it with great atmosphere, story and enemies/allies. I suppose it's like trying to reinvent the wheel...
