I know. What a hack, right?

Thanks! You'd be surprised how many people, even with the closing disclaimer, completely missed the point.

I tend to agree. If I had stopped playing after 45 minutes and based the review on that experience alone, it definitely would have scored much lower than 85/100. Putting more time into it, though, really expanded on the depth of the title. On the other hand, maybe they played a lot of it and just hated it.

I can't stand Gears of War. I know that some people live and die by that series, but it just feels too slow and clunky for me.

As for a high scoring futuristic cover shooter, I can easily claim Vanquish, a third-person futuristic cover shooter, as precedent for a nearly perfect experience.

Did you listen to the episode?

I still have to play Minecraft, personally. I need to get my PC situation fixed up first.

I don't recall trashing VII, just saying that I'm not too fond of VII and later. Mostly it's because I love the classic sprite style of the previous games, and the transition to the PSX and later graphics just didn't really do it for me.

Obviously I would disagree that VII is better than VI, but hey, what would the world be without differing opinions?

Thanks for commenting!

I quite enjoyed the twin stick portion of the game, and I'm not really much of a twin stick fan. As for Behaviour Interactive...well, yeah, a majority of their work is complete crap. They do, however, have some shining moments. Rango: The Video Game was an absolutely fantastic game, while the Doritos Crash Course was entertaining, and WET had its strengths. I think Voltron is one of their shining moments in a sea of swill.

It does suck that there isn't a demo. As for the price, that's the only part I was really torn on. For some people, $49.99 will be too expensive, and $39.99 will be a better price point. For others, the fun of seeing your childhood playground imaginations in front of you will make the $49.99 price point worthwhile.

He does make mention of the co-op with real people being a good experience compared to the single player experience, actually.

I haven't touched the PS3 version, so I would have no basis from which to comment on it. To comment on the quality of the PS3 version without ever having seen it, touched it, or experienced it in any way would be disingenuous and wrong.

Thanks!

I haven't played the demo, but from playing the game itself, the review is absolutely genuine. Keep in mind that different people have different tastes. You may not have liked it, but that doesn't mean that everybody else should feel the same.

Thanks!

I gave it the 100/100 for a few reasons:

1) I enjoy the open world driving so much that I end up spending hours just driving around in various cars without realizing that hours have passed.
2) There's so much content in there, that I can't imagine how long it's going to take me to really see all of it.
3) I loved the original, and this has that feel to it.
4) I really saw no flaws with the game itself.

It's a game that,...

I've been loving my Kinect lately. Child of Eden was fantastic, Dance Central is a great workout, and I'm really looking forward to Gunstringer.

I think if Driver had been a game I had never played before, I'd be tempted to agree with you. However, I played the original Driver so much that I wore out the CD-ROM and had to buy a replacement, so I think that helps.

I respectfully disagree, but that's my opinion. We were going to eventually get a PS3, as we like to own one of every console, however after playing Akimi Village at E3 I wanted to get the console sooner so that I could play the game at launch rather than waiting for a game like Twisted Metal to hit shelves. To be perfectly honest, there haven't been many PS3 exclusives that have made me want to get a console as most of what I am interested in is multi-plat, like Assassin's Creed,...
