I also disagree. it wouldn't make much sense to start the game with gold. what exactly do you mean by 'die from BS' the whole premise of videogames is that you become good and don't die, most games have a consequence from dying like starting from a previous checkpoint for example. with regards to load times I can only vouch for xbox one x and have not experienced any long load times when dying. when you level up with a merchant you will get much more gold ...
@UCForce all they have said so far is that you will be able to buy pets with real money a few months down the line. but there's a good chance you will be able to by gold with real money at some point which would suck
it's much better with mics but agree it's probably the first game I have ever played with randoms and had fun

I'm not defending the game but you can easily get about 5000 gold in a few hours and that's on the early level quests. I'm pretty sure when you reach the phase 1 end game and get access to the secret cave with new legendary quests you will make a lot more gold. not sure why people thought they would be able to a large amount of gold after a few days. with regards to losing gold for dying I think it will improve the game, I'm hoping it will help people tea...
I think this is to try and encourage people to work together. for example when trying to take on a fort I always try and team up with other ships but I bet you can imagine how that usually turns out. if they add a consequence for dying people might think twice before going into combat with every single player they come across. I think it's a good idea as long as they don't make it so you can just buy gold with real money

@welly300 I think the first content update will be make or break for the game. I think it's supposed to release in a few months. there's enough to do to keep me entertained till then but if they don't add anything significant I won't be playing long after that. especially with state of decay 2 and god of war coming out

I managed to grab the ladder of an enemy ship after being fired from a cannon. tried to sneak onboard but didn't last long lol
normally I would agree but with a game like this experiences can vary a lot and some critics will love it whilst others will hate it. I think review scores will be all over the place
from what I've played so far I would agree but it's still to early to tell
if you didn't enjoy the beta you wont enjoy the full game, I actually liked the beta and am enjoying the game so far
I won't be taking any review seriously that comes out in the next few days. there's no way you can give a full honest review after 1 or 2 days with this type of game and that goes the same for that 9.3 score. to be fair I only really take ACG's reviews seriously and I'm not even sure he's going to review this but that's irrelevant for me as I've already got it on game pass
exactly there's so many variables when setting off on a quest. what happens if you see a ship on the horizon do you run and keep your loot, chase it down and risk your loot to sink it, do you follow it and take advantage when they are docked, do you try and team up to take on a near fort, what happens if you see a ship wreck do you go of coarse to check it out, what if there's a storm in your path do you risk going through it or take the long route around, what happens if the kraken a...

N4G is so toxic I wouldn't bother coming here but it's the best source for the latest gaming news. I can't wait to get home tonight and play sea of thieves, state of decay2 is my most anticipated game this year and I'm super hyped for god of war and spiderman but I'm not the slightest bit interested in Detroit become human so I don't even venture into the comment sections for that game let alone start slagging it off, I hope everyone else enjoys...

I don't know this for certain but I'm pretty sure when you get to a higher level with each faction you will be rewarded with much more gold. for example when you reach the phase 1 end game secret cave (level 50 I think) you will get legendary voyages your own ship will also be in the cave so I think it's a reasonable assumption that's why ship customization is so expensive and those legendary quests will reward you with huge amounts of gold
