At this point I want the gaming industry to go back to just Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft served it's purpose, they should leave.
The way things look right now, that probably the best idea for the sake of the gaming industry we know and love. I own a 360 (I prefer PS) but regardless I won't be supporting these snakes vision of the gaming industry by buying an X1. Even though I own a 360 I didn't support XBL, because I knew it would only help business concepts like those the X1 supports to become a reality. I was right.
It was not hardware focus at all. They glanced over the specs and weren't even actually controlling the OS. The only thing the really reveal was TV, showed what they want Kinect 2 to do and said they have 15 exclusives in the first year. (Speculation) 8-10 of those are probably entirely Kinect based since it seems to be their focused. So all and all they really didn't say sh!t IMO.

Xbone just makes sense and is accurate.
The same people dissing Sony for not showing the console, seem to be completely fine w/ Microsoft showing no games.
So lets get this straight.... Microsoft couldn't get Kinect to work as advertised, they barely got the 360 to work w/o melting, they don't have Kinect 2 working Yusef was reaching in his pocket during instant switching, XBL lags, the haven't even released a game thru the cloud, they lied about Milo and they lied about Starwars Kinect. But know their gonna supply 200% more power to (say) 100 million consoles through the internet? Ok....
Its not spinning anything, I personally don't think it will work out that smoothly and I don't think we have the capabilities to pull off it. We haven't even started to deal w/ cloud gaming yet, nevermind cloud processing. It seems like a pipe dream. If it's works, I'm all for it. But I dont think it will anytime soon.

You don't see how requiring an internet connection to draw extra power is a horrible idea? For starters, Alot of the world doesn't have internet, most internet users have "caps", all constant online games (DRM) have failed miserably and Onlive was chewing through peoples internet packages in a few days. You don't see how "powering" say.... 60 million consoles through a cloud network could be a problem?

Gaming consoles have evolved beyond gaming w/ this generation. The main problem w/ the X1... the reveal seemed to forget entirely that it is a gaming console, by putting everything else first and we don't need gaming to evolve into that. In fact, the X1 seems to hate gaming, Think about it. Before even showing a game, they have blocked used games, limited offline play (what ever that means), require check ins, used/faked using Kinect to talk about TV and released a TV show. Better is only subjective with gameplay, technical aspects are not subjective. Art style is even subjective, again technical aspects are not.
Just because Mcdonalds sells more "food" than other places doesn't mean it's better.
